I think I missed something here..I thought Elle and Claire were good buddies now, but all of a sudden Elle wanted to zap Claire and her dad. But thanks to the eclipse Claire managed to get shot.

What's happening Heroes???

To me Elle looked a bit shocked when Arthur sent Sylar after her. I think she wanted to somehow protect Claire from Sylar thatīs why she went with him, just look how she manipulated him. To me it looked like she wanted to make him stop going after Claire.

And yet they still went after Claire. I think it was more that she had gone through enough trying to please her father, and didn't want Sylar to be manipulated like that.

I agree with tohkan, Elle was surprised by Sylar being sent to go get Clair.

Elle, it appears after several episodes in which she is acting very rationally suddenly appears to go off the rails. But does she really? I say no. In reality she is in an untenable situation. Her feelings for Sylar are real but Elle knows Sylar wants to please Arthur. Elle has no reason to trust Arthur. Elle after all went to Pinhearst for help and instead was put in chains and stuck in a dark room.

In her life, Elle could trust HRG to tell her the bitter truth and it is Clair before Sylar who takes her uncontrollable voltage and tries to help her. She can see very plainly that Sylar is behaving as she did with her own father. And she isn't sure how to control him. Which is why she challenges him in the car rental store, "They are all trying to make you into something. Boyscout, monster, who are you really?" Elle is really trying to find out for herself who Sylar/Gabriel is.

Even though it looked like Clair was trying to get between Elle and HRG to protect him, Elle clearly aims and shoots Clair not HRG who she could have killed instantly. Elle still thinks Clair can heal and even if she can't she delivers a relatively less severe wound.

So if Elle was indeed trying to protect Clair why did she shoot her at all? It was the best way to separate Sylar and HRG and get Clair away from Sylar. Without his power Sylar was vulnerable to being killed. In short it was the best way for Elle to save them all without anyone being killed.

Simply saying, "No, you can't just take Clair because your father wants you to." She knows it will fall on deaf ears as it would have for her.

That was my read on it.

Do what you do because it's what you want- not to please Mommy (either of them) or Daddy.

Like I always says: Elle's in love with Claire and fakes it with Sylar in order to protect her! LOL tongue.gif

Ok, just my dirty mind here! Forgetting the lesbian subtext, let's wonder exactly:

Elle and Claire, actually, were not ending up being bff in Eris Quod Sum. They just had a similar problem and went looking together for a solution. Maybe some bonds were created, but we can wonder if those bonds are actually that strong!

For the rest, I don't know... Does she trusts Arthur? She has no reason, except that he sends Gabriel to cure her... So, yeah, she has no reason at all! lol tongue.gif But she can trust Gabriel now, as he cured her... So my conclusion is that she's not helping Claire, nor Arthur, but Gabriel, by turning him back to his true self, the one she met over a year ago before she turned him into Sylar!

As for the cheerleader, I don't know there, if she agrees to play with Arthur or not... Her trust for the big villain is quite unknown at that time, as she don't really know him much...

Arthur isn't the one who cured her. Arthur could have taken her powers, which is what she originally wanted. Elle ran into the building she witnessed Peter being thrown out of. So she knew Arthur could take powers away. Arthur choose not to
Deciding to chain her up in a dark room until Arthur sent Sylar in.

And Sylar could have easily as killed her as cured her.

So, yeah, she has no reason to trust Arthur. tongue.gif Arthur did not put his life on the line for her the way Gabriel did.

I maintain that Elle was indeed looking out for all of them by shooting Clair. She could just have easily shot HRG (Noah Sr.) and killed him and taken Clair to Arthur with Sylar if she wasn't looking out for all of them.

As I said, it was the fastest way to separate HRG and Sylar both determined to do what they felt they had to while getting Clair to safety.

Under these circumstances, the question again becomes who is the true Villain? Sylar or HRG? The monster or the one who helped to make him and following orders loosed him on the world?

After all, if HRG had left Sylar alone only Brian Davis would have been dead plus Sylar, as Elle would not have been sent to interfere with his suicide.

And the monster you helped create comes at you and your loved ones, isn't that called Karma?

I thought she was shooting at HRG and Claire jumped in the way. Did I miss something?

Clair is running to get between them but Elle has HRG right in front of her. She could have shot him in the back of the head right away, instead she sees Clair run from her hiding place and shoots her.

Look it at it again.

And? rolleyes.gif

Why would Noah thank Claire for saving his life, if she didn't actively jump into the path of a bullet's trajectory?

And read this, part of the recap at nbc.com.
