this is FANTASTIC news. things are finally going right for a change again.
i saw this posted over at superherohype.com - quoting a summary of the above article here for those who can't see the link:
QUOTE
"Pushing Daisies" creator/executive producer Bryan Fuller is close to a two-year overall deal with Universal Media Studios, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Fuller will rejoin the UMS-produced drama "Heroes," which he left after the first season to launch ABC/WBTV's "Daisies," and will develop new projects for the studio.
Fuller, who is wrapping post-production on the final episodes of "Daisies'" 13-episode second-season order, is expected to officially come on board "Heroes" starting with Episode 20.
His exact role on the sci-fi drama has not been determined, but he is expected to play a key role in the writers room alongside "Heroes" creator/executive producer/showrunner Tim Kring.

Hello! And thank you for bringing us good news.
Right now some of us are still feeling rather raw over the last episode. It was great and had tons of emotional impact and were still talking about it.
This is just the right thing to cheer me up.
I'm sorry Bryan lost "Daisies" but I'm happy for our "Heroes".
Thanks again!

Yes!! We'll most likely be getting a Fuller episode by the end of the season! Yes, yes, yes!
As for Pushing Daisies, you will be missed...

The wording in that is conflicting. He is "close" to a deal, "will" rejoin, is "expected" to play a role... Which is it, Fuller?

Means he's coming back, just not quite sure what capacity. Might be Loeb's replacement, in a manner of speaking.

How is the wording confusing?
He is close to a 2 year overall deal.
He will return to the show, but the exact capacity is unknown.
He is expected to play a role in the writer's room.

If he's only "close" to a deal, then he doesn't have one yet, so it's not definite that he "will" return to the show. Part of the wording is hypothetical and part of it is definite. Something can't be hypothetical and definite at the same time.

The part of the deal that's up in the air (thus "close" to a deal) are the details. He's definitely coming back, but the "exact capacity" is unknown.
Nothing hypothetical about it.

All I'm saying is that the wording could be clearer.
I get the feeling that you love to jump all over people for stuff like this.

I'm clarifying something I thought was obvious from the way it was written.

This is good news. It also means that they are planning Heroes to go on for two more years. I thought that maybe with the ratings drop.. there might only be on more season. This is great

Unfortunately, as I mention in my edit to the first post, that was a misprint on my part. The two years is for UMS shows in general, not for Heroes. I have no idea how long they plan to produce the show, or how long beyond the last few episodes of Volume Four Fuller wants to be involved with the show. But hey, I'm just happy he's going to be back, in any sort of capacity.

I hope those "other projects" include a proper ending to
Daisies. He mentioned making a movie or a comic...
I find this news to be bittersweet. I can't wait to see the episodes written by him, but PD is absolutely BRILLIANT. I just can't let it go

I'm so happy about Fuller returning to Heroes like everyone else!
Although Pushing Daisies was great and I'll be sad to see it go, Fuller is needed on this show.
PD has also expanded his creativity - that show was so innovative - and I'm excited to see what he'll add to the current storyline.
