The last soldier that Peter was fighting was holding his own it seemed, so got me to thinking that perhaps this soldier has an abilitity as was one of the soldiers from the webisodes (or completely different), but regardless did he have an ability?

Also, was this the same soldier as the one not frozen by Traci?

nah, the soldier was beating pete cuz pete touched Tracy and pushed Mohinder's strength out.

Nah the guy got the uperhand on peter after a few blows as you could see
and the guy that didnt get frozen by tracy
had gear to keep him from freezing
as far as we know theyre just very prepaired and well oiled Hero Killers.

I'm undecided about "The Hunter" having a power. I don't think he does, though.

But having super strength doesn't necessarily mean one can't get hurt when hit. If I'm remembering correctly, Jessica / Niki got hit with a shovel by D.L. and it did some damage, for example.

It was the hunter itself that tracy tried to freeze but he had a special suit on since they knew what power she has so she couldn't hurt him.
Peter started getting beaten after he accidentaly touched tracy and absorbed her ability making mohinders power he previously had leave.

There was nothing to show that Peter lost Mohinder's power once he got Tracy's...he was simply shocked that he started freezing the plane and was caught off guard

They wouldn't dumb his ability down to the point where he looses one after gaining another


as for the guy who resisted Tracy, they knew what her ability was before that, they have government backing...I'm sure they could muster up an anti-freeze suit

Rewatch the scene please ok?

- Peter punches the guards around after he got mohinders power
- Guard suprises him, peter falls and touches tracy absorbing her power
- Peter tries to punch the guard away, goes "OUCH" and holds his hand with his other one indicating that he had lost mohinders power after he touched tracy and the guard that is still standing there punches peter back
- Peter falls and slides towards the planeside, touches and freezes that part of the plane by mistake and all hell breaks out.

Raekon, you need to rewatch the scene too. He was banging guards against the walls and throwing them around, there was no punching. After touching Tracy, he gets up, punches the guard in the face then immediately gets a rifle in the gut. If he can use Mohinder's ability and freezing at the same time in the next episode it means he pulled his punch too much which is perfectly understandable.

Or even that he (knowingly or unknowingly) turned Mohinder's ability off to not hurt the guard. (I think too much.)

Keep it simple. Touching Tracy usurped the previous power (Mo's super strength) replacing it with the freezing godsend.

We do not know that for sure. It is at this point a reasonable interpretation but so is Peter pulling his punch.

i just can't buy the Peter holding back bit, when he red lines and commits to saving lives he goes all out.

S1, finale, held nothing back on Sylar
s2, finale, beat and crushed every guard and even hurled hiro to the wall, TK'd parkman
V3 villans, let loose the super scream on everyone not holding back, busted down on Pinehearst ready to throw down with all his gifts, and even shot a gun on his father.

Peter is less likely to hold back when it involves fighting for his loved ones or for the world.
