If Kristin dos Santos is to be believed, it was Kristen Bell who wanted to leave the show.

Still, KB's utter on-the-record silence re: how she felt about the way she was shown the door is deafening. It may or may not lend credence to the belief that something happened near the end that really soured her on continuing with the show, even if her movie schedule had allowed her to come back sometime in season 4. Namely BTW, Sylar, here's your son.

But with ACAPD getting mixed media reviews at best, and ennui setting in (both Entertainment Weekly and the Philly Daily News declined to review the episode, USA Today devoting only a 2-sentence review in their what to watch column, and Newark Star-Ledger critic Alan Sepinwall basically saying 'no mas', I'm done with the show), I don't think they'll get a full season 4 pickup if things don't improve. I believe it'll be a 13 episode deal, with the back 9 or 10 hinging on how well the first set of season 4 episodes do. Just my opinion.

The LA Times and other papers gave it good reviews and many gave it a Recommended Viewing or Must Watch.

They're doing fine.

It was Kristen who reported that it was Ali or Hayden was angling to leave. Her reporting on "Heroes" always needs Ausielio or other sources to be believed.

Kristin Dos Santos?

Isn't she the one who broke the story that Simone had a power? How about the time Angela talked to dead people? Or that Ali was coming back with a character that was Niki Under Another Name, but that the personality wouldn't be Niki or Jessica?
Her track record is so abysmal, I'm continually astonished she still has a job. The local news media would fire a Weather Reporter with that lousy a track record. Certainly someone with "inside sources" whose job is to break entertainment news before it's shown on air should at least attempt to be accurate once in a while.

And "Kristen's utter silence" about how she was "shown the door" is...actually pretty common. I can't remember the last time I heard an actor/actress devote much, if any, time to discussing a previous job. They're kind of like real people that way.

As far as the "mixed" reviews, at best...who really cares? What is important is the ratings. And the ratings are solid. It was actually an improvement. (And, to be honest, you must be reading a different EW than I was. Because the EW I read had good things to say- which is an improvement over the last story they ran about the show.)
