Full Version: What on earth did Nathan want from Tracy?

Okay, I suppose that the main reason for the final scene with Nathan overseeing Tracy's re-drugging was to have him outed, but what reason would Nathan have had to go in there in the first place? To gloat? Didn't look like it. To scare her? He probably knows her better. Because he feels he owes it to her? Maybe, but still a bit careless in the light of what happened (which he really should have anticipated).

This can't simply have been a plot device. Can it?

I think it was simply remorse. As Angela said on the phone he was calling her to make himself feel better. I think it was a mix of everything you said, a plot devise, a way to rationalize his actions, a guilty nagging conscience. I see it as Nathan being a really tormented man knowing what he has done and he is starting to see the consequences.

Now this could be wishful thinking because I prefer to think that the elder Petrelli still has a thread of decency. I could still see the good in his eyes the fact that he didn't want to see anyone hurt. I hold out hope at least. :/

It was a plot device, but not simply to "out" Nathan. It was also to show people what happened to Tracy, and that the rounding up of specials wasn't over simply because of the first failure. Nathan is still standing behind his plan, even after everything that's happened.

I thought it was great to see, because I remember the hunting squad saying "we got the first one" in reference to Tracy. Even after all that happened, that held true. Tracy was still the first in Round 2.

Outwardly, at least. wink.gif

I wonder, though - who was that being recorded for? Just military standard procedure?

The scene was also there to show us that Rachel Mills was inside the truck. The last time we saw her was with Angela in the webisode. I think this means that Angela is starting to step in to help some of our special people. She and Nathan are not on the same side.

Has anyone got a youtube link to that webisode? I followed the ones revolving around Echo this summer but this time didn't want to take the effort of hunting for them on the non-US channels...

I think that Nathan tried to still convince himself that everything he is doing is right trying to get from tracy what angela didn't give to him on the phone since he knows that he and tracy think alike.

However, tracy denied him a confirmation in a similar way angela did by saying to him that its all him the whole time and nothing else!

With other words he cut in his own flesh by doing what he does and now even people that shouldn't know will find out about who he really is!

As about the webisodes, you can find the full episode of the 5 parts in one under the webisodes section of this board. smile.gif
