Seriously? Yeah, we get it, not many girls go to comic stores. Lame joke. I'm surprised he didn't push up us his glasses by the bridge and give a nerdy snort-laugh. Then they couple it with the one of the oldest TV lines ever.

"Wait, who sent you? Was it (blank)?"

Really? Does anyone really say that? Ever?

Um, it was sort of an un-going Sam's comics joke IMO, since the last time we were in a Sam's comics the clerk also accused his friend of paying Matt, Hiro, and Ando to come in and screw with him.

And the hott chick in the comic store comic stemmed from that. If he hadn't thought she was paid he wouldn't have said something so dumb.

Plus..I mean, it is kind of true. Hott Girls dont normally walk into comic stores and try to like, get the guy working there to go somewhere with them. At least not in the comic stories around me...

I preface all my conversations like this.

Considering he said that after Claire said he was in danger and had to leave NOW, it's not a surprising thing to ask. It would have been more lame if he had looked around and said, "Wait a minute, am I on Punked?"

Oh, I know hot girls aren't common in a comic shop. It's just a silly joke though. As far as the "who sent you to screw with me? Was it that crazy buddy of mine?" thing. It's tired and dumb. Even if they did do it in another episode.

He's pretty obviously being set up to be her next boyfriend, so they're keeping his nerdiness at an acceptably moderate level- notice, he has square-shaped glasses and a job in a comic book store, but no braces, zits, "nerdy" clothes or obvious wimpy/"uncool" tendencies.

very valid point trent, i think its kind of a cool set-up

i dunno, i mean yeah it was cliche, but what a better way to introduce a love interest than through the oldest lines in the book!?

i'm into it, plus im interested to see where this power of his comes into play, breathing underwater? what are they gonna do with that?

maybe he'll save her from the depths of the ocean... ahhh so romantic... lucky girl--> he's got some potential!

Wait... who paid you to say that? Was it Kurt?

I'm personally a fan of the line, and use it whenever and wherever I can...

When I saw WATER you say WORLD!

Bianca, a GN character, could breathe more than just water. Including poisonous gasses. Perhaps he will learn that his ability is termed: Adaptive Respiration.

Theoretically he should be able to breathe just about anything.
B4theDawn
I could be wrong, but I think Bianca's power was the ability to hold her breath, not breathe in different mediums. She was able to adapt her lungs and hold her breath for as long as she needed... at least, that's what I understood.

He has the power of Aquaman/Aquaboy. That's pretty lame in and of itself. Except that Aquaman could actually talk to animals in the sea. This dude can just breathe water. Yeah, that's useful. >_> Unless he can breathe in all mediums like toxic gases, etc. later down the line.
Shizniddle Snap
Breathing under water alone would be lame. Hopefully this is just a throw away character so we won't have to worry about it.
