I mean really. Heroes is about having EXTRAORDINARY abilities. I mean in season 1 hiro didn't have his power back and there was a thourogh explanation why and how he needed it back. Lets not relive history again? Just give him his powers back. Hiro is not the same with out them.
ChicagoCubz
Agreed.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Arthur taking his powers has changed his ability. I mean peter can now only hold one power so maybe hiro cant time travel or something. I am 50-50 i want hiro to get his powers back, but its good seeing him use his head and fist. i jumped and yatta'd when he punched the groom out.
Reboot
He either needs his powers back, or needs to become a Samurai. One or the other, but it better happen fast.

Don't you people realize that time travel was one of things that made the show terrible? YEAH, I WANT TIME TRAVEL BACK SO HEROES CAN GET ITS BAD REVIEW. Seriously, just leave Hiro the way he is. Big disagreement on this thread.

You can't blame time travel. Look at the success Lost is having with time travel.

The problem was the inability of the writers to effectively convey the rules of destiny to us. Hiro could have become a deep understander of how time unfolds, and how he cannot go back in time and kill himself due to the paradox... They failed so miserably at time-travel someone in the head office had to take their shiny toy away until they learn to play with it the right way.

Something everyone misses is how strong a force destiny is supposed to be in this universe, and then they went and undid that by saying how fragile it all is with f_Peter coming back and messing it up. I just wish they would have stuck with the "not written in stone... but still written" kind of mythos.

Still, I think Hiro has kind of run his course in the show. He'll be better served as a peripheral character IMO.

Reboot
Agreed. Don't blame the concept, blame the writers. Since the very first volume, they have continuously set it up so that Hiro comes to a deeper understanding that some things must simply be left to fate, that changing them could have even darker consequences. He tried to save Charlie and failed. His father explicitatly tells him not to change his death. His future self was so hell-bent on changing the past, but time is so fragile.

They've had ample opportunities (his father's death, Ando's 'death', going back in time and meeting his mother) for them to make Hiro finally realise this and set aside Time Traveling for good. Instead, they've just ripped it from him, and it has kind of made his entire character development meaningless. The whole point of Hiro was that he had this amazing Godsend, but MUST learn that even though he has such a great gift, some things simply can not be changed.

Though they are setting things up once more (with Future Peter's interruptions and everything) that some things just repeat in a cycle and must come to pass, this really should have been Hiro's journey, not Peter's. Time Travel on the show has just become so confusing now. But again, that is not the concepts fault when it's been put to excellent use in many other shows. Blame the writers. Their 'on the fly' approach to Time Travel is baffling. They should have had strict rules in place from the get-go.

Can Time Travel be brought back into the show now? ... That's debatable. They would need to create those strict rules, but in either case, Hiro needs his Teleportation / Time Freeze back.

YES. Hiro was so much better with powers! Give them back! Hiro should have an episode where something horrible happens, forcing him to grow up a little and somehow get his power back. I like Hiro, yes, but he acts like a child at times. Still.. Let's see where the plot goes. After all, we haven't seen it all yet. He may improve.

Heroes does need non-powered people (I'm not sure Hiro should be that person). Kring and the other writers have been pretty clear that they want to steer away from time-travel (at least for now).

I see Hiro either remaining non-powered, but remaining influential (a la Batgirl -> Oracle in Batman); or, receiving a watered down version of time manipulation by season's end.

I'd like to see Hiro get his powers back, but with a much greater respect for them. Also, maybe they could water it down a little. Maybe he can't travel as far backwards and forwards in time as he used to. But at least let him time travel a little. I liked how he used it to try to knock out Utusu. One minute back in time. That was a great little trick.

Personally, I like Hiro's take on it- that he can be as heroic without having powers. I think that's the real message of the show anyway. Injecting himself didn't make Mohinder a better person. Arguably, Peter was most effective when he didn't have powers. Sylar still killed without his. HRG kicks much butt always.
