PETER
Before he lost his powers, he had empathic mimicry...that was his original ability. It allowed him to accumulate all the other abilities. I also understand that he didn't have to be in contact with the person to gain the ability, just be in close proximation of the gifted individual.

1. If he came in close contact with someone who possessed multiple abilities, does he gain all of those abilities, or just the original (core) ability that the person possessed?

2. If Arthur had not taken away his powers, would Peter have gained Arhur's ability of power absorption?


MONICA
With her adoptive muscle memory, is she able to retain the actions she has produced and reproduce them whenever she wants or needs to or does it simply go away after she has mimicked the act that gave her that movement? In other words, she did the 619 the next night at work after seeing it on TV. Now, let's say she doesn't see wrestling ever again, 5 years down the road, could she still do the 619 based on muscle memory?

Peter...

1.) Yes. He gained all of Sylar's abilities when he rescued Claire from him in "Homecoming."

2.) He probably absorbed power theft from his Dad but obviously he didn't know that was his Dad's ability until he gave him a good'ol hug.



I'm pretty sure she can otherwise her ability would be kind of lame lol. But she can instinctly remember very complex movements immediately so I don't see why they wouldn't stick forever.

You are correct about how Peter's previous ability worked. Though some of us might argue that his proximity wasn't all that close since he absorbed DL's ability from across the plaza.

We really didn't get to see Monica's abilty long enough to know for certain how they wanted it to work in the Heroesverse. She never used the same moves twice as far as I can remember. Some time passed between when she saw the tomato-cutting thing on TV at home and when she subconsciously performed the action later at work. Same thing goes for her swing around the pole and knock the robber down move. But it was only a matter of hours. I would bet that she can remember them all indefinitely (or barring a visit from the Haitian). Or they may have treated it like an evolution of her power later on. Just spec on my part though.

I think Monica's ability to do those actions will only decrease as her physicality will limit her. I really hope she comes back!

Me too! I think she would make a great contribution to the remainder of this volume and for vol.5- whatever they call it.

monica could be an awesome character, her ability alone is great. we need to see her journey that shows her becomin st. joan.
