I was thinkin' about it, now that the footage of American Citizens being drugged and kidnapped by the government has made it to the media, what's going to happen now? How much does the media actually know? (for example, are there any identified people in the footage like Nathan Petrelli?) Is there going to be a repeat like the ending of the second season where it will be learned nationally that there are people with special powers and abilities, because that is what the footage is of, "special people being hauled away."
I also can't help but to think that the Rebel wanted this to go public. The reason I say that is why else would they show that to Parkman and Peter?

I think that nothing about the powers or why has been revealed. The public just is now aware that people are being taken against their rights and whatnot. They still think the victims are alleged terrorists. I think the most immediate effect is that it's driving Danko to drastic measures to attempt to get people to support the operation, by making Matt seem to be a terrorist bomb threat. Maybe after this situation is dealt with, we'll get a better idea of the implications of the reveal.

Danko's guys could cover it back up again, spin it, or people may not show any interest--"people getiing tortured, news at 11...OH LOOK SEMI-NAKED CELEBRITIES!!"

I think it's really going to just make Danko more desperate, therefor, more likely to strap people to bombs and say "OMG Superpowered Terrorists!"
Then he'll promptly blow everything up in a 50 mile radius, get drunk, and promptly collapse in a drunken stupor, only after sprouting a magical beard like Nathan in season 2.

Actually, maybe that's what will happen. The bomb will fail, people will hate Danko and co. even more, Danko will do something worst, that will fail again, etc... up to the point where he drops a nuke on DC and blame it on the Heroes (which would work this time! lol). I can see it going this way!

Lots of good episodes. That's what's going to happen.

I agree.

And I really, really like that nobody has been openly exposed yet. The footage hasn't told the public anything about specials. And even Danko, although he definitely suspects that Nathan is "One of them", hasn't actually got proof - when Nathan flew to save Peter, it all went to fast that I doubt Danko saw it properly. Judging by Noah's face, I'm sure he did guess it, but Noah's a whole lot smarter than Danko too...
The exposure so far has happened with excellent timing and excellent pace. And even if Matt manages to snatch a lot of TV coverage in front of the White House next week, that still doesn't mean that the public will learn about abilities.

I agree that there'll be loads of good episodes.
Not sure if Matt can erase memories. In-story, he should - it's less of a stretch than painting the future, from his ability. But since he would then render the Haitian useless, I don't think he could. Maybe the Haitian could, but I'd prefer it if they didn't have to resort to that sort of thing, but would stop just before the public generally knew about abilities.
I'm starting to wonder if this volume will change the outset of the series, if only a little. More factions, more example. It would be cool if it did.

im sure matt can tap into it because the haitians ability is mental manipulation so matt has mental capabilities but well just have to see XD

I think it will never get to that point, so far the media is only seeing "American citizens having their human rights violated", no mention of superpowers of any kind.
And yeah technically Matt COULD use the Haitian's power, all he needs to do is mentally order the other person to forget a particular event. That is indisputable in my opinion.

Jus like in real life, things like this can be filmed and shown and those responsible will get away (Rodney King's Beating) but there will be outrage. Or people don't care and those trying to stop horrors like this from happening or speaking out against it are denounced as terrorists themselves or conspiracy nuts.
Plus why is it so special bout American citizens treated this way. No one should be treated this way. illegal immigrants, residents, etc. It should be outrage just because it is happening to people. No Warrant and No crime=No arrest, No Excuses. Our Bill of Rights should protect all people in our borders.

The main reason it's
seen as different with American citizens is because it's the
American government mistreating their constituency. In other words the people whose lives and rights that it is their
duty to
protect are suffering at their hands. And in the news it makes money to create an outrage, especially at the idea that it could happen to
you.

calling what? this show has never featured political views, especially in terms of liberal or conservative. heroes centers around morals and justice, basically individual and the government. this show is called heroes, not politicians.
