Is this how Sylar starts to hunt Peter, because he sees him as his best rival?
They are going to have that mega showdown in the finale...
i guess now he will find out Peter's reason for fighting Sylar

I don't think Peter is the Petrelli he's hunting. Sylar is taking his father's desires and makes them into his own same as he did with his mother.

Ausielo has stated a number of times that
Peter and Sylar are going to have a knockdown all out brawl in the final episode, and that it is going to end in a way that will make A LOT of viewers angry. So either Sylar is biting it or Peters is..or he is stringing us along.

In that case final "epic" battle is going to be one sided... Sylar has a myriad of abilities and Peter can only switch up now by touching. If it's a one on one then Peter is dead. If it's a gang up of the heroes like in season one finale than Peter will survive.
I hope it's a one on one battle and that Peter gets an arsenal of abilities before he faces Sylar in the end, but that probably won't happen either because Heroes can be a little cheap with the action.

I find it hard to believe that he will carry all of Sylar's arsenal through touching him, and IA won't be copied either... I think
What if he just grabs the telekinesis instead, since that's like Sylar's most used, Peter would still lose because Sylar already defeated him in that one episode where "killed" Peter with broken mirror while invisible.

Guys -the epic battle peter and sylar have in the season finale is disappointing because they are fighting on the SAME side..think about it for a second..this season isn't about specials vs. specials..its about specials vs. people without powers..aka the government.

But the writers did say that when Peter and Sylar meet, they won't be on friendly terms. If Sylar kills Nathan and Peter finds out, I highly doubt Pete + Sylar will be on the same team.

Why start a topic in "episodes" that is
all in spoilers instead of posting it in the "spoiler" section? That's what it's there for, right? I mean the answers are going to be spoiler tagged too so why bother with it here?

I don't think this is the start of a Peter hunt. Last time Sylar saw Peter he was powerless, and as far as he knows, still is. Pete's not really the big game he used to be.

"After a couple weeks of hearing that Peter and Sylar are going to duel, I'm getting a bit worried! Mostly because, after their volume three interactions, it appeared that they reached some sort of grudging respect for each other. Obviously they are still rivals, but it seems like at least Sylar understands the evolutionary need for evil and good. Plus, they did save each other a couple times...so will the boys ever seem to get along again?" I wouldn't look for them to make nice-nice in the "Fugitives" chapter. At least not until the very end when, well… oh, we wouldn't want to give that away.http://comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=20360

I would absolutely LOVE this. It doesn't really matter if
sylar and peter aren't happy with eachother, I think it will be more important to all of them to get Danko and his guys.
they won't like eachother, but they could join together to get someone they mutually didn't like.

I will admit that at least the writing team has tried to do better. The Peter and Sylar confrontation within Primatech earlier in the season was very well done(some actual money was spent on it), even though it had around the same short time limit of any Heroes battle from the past two seasons. A hell of a lot better than the characters grabbing each other and tumbling over a rooftop. I'm still waiting for that scene to be recycled a third time. (First time was with Peter and Sylar in season one, the second time was Kaito and Adam in season two.) I highly doubt this "epic" battle this one writer promises will be very "epic". When he says "epic" he probably means the battle will be a whole five minutes of action.

the one in villians was probably 1 minute?

Still, he probably had an advantage over her with a gun. Either he wasn't too skilled with it or he already had the hots for Elle.

I seriously think that Sylar's "I know what I have to do now" refers to him ABANDONING his power stealing ways. Think about it. He's seen where that road took his father, a pitiful, miserable old man, dying all alone of cancer, no longer able to even use most of his powers, no one giving a rats ****** if he lives or dies.
My guess is that whatever Sylar is planning to do, he's no longer going to be obsessively hunting abilities. He always thought gaining more power made him "Special" but now he's seen from his father that ultimately it doesn't. All it does is make you a lonely old lunatic.

Personally think you need to listen to what his father said to him when he had those arrows in him, that could be giving us a hint as to what Sylar now wants to become. Someone who can make a difference, his father has gone around killing people and looks like he got bored of it eventually and his life feels meaningless, Sylar doesn't want that to happen to him.

To me..its setting up the mindset that he had in 5YG. I don't think he'll stop looking for abilities, but only those that would increase his influence and power on the world stage. His mealomania just got that much bigger due to his fathers feeble condition compared to what he was ready for.

Ok, so samson said that Sylar had never really gone for a challenge right? So what would be a challenge for Sylar? I thought of three things:
1. Find Peter and try to take him down, because Peter's the only powered person Sylar has gone up against but not killed.
2. Join forces with Danko and take out all the other powered people.
3. Finally propose to Mohinder.
