I don't see how but I really don't want her to be dead! Basically her powers just became super amplified! I definitely would like to see more of that. Plus it seems like her and Micah could have made up a pretty cool dynamic this time around.

That was ridiculous. It doesn't make sense whatsoever that she could survive that, but I did see her blink so it's more than clear that she did.

Quite possible she could be dead, but that wink could suggest she is sentient ice, like Iceman was at one point. That would be a stretch for a show trying to get back to "reality", but it's possible. Most likely she's dead, IMO.
ColorMeToxic
Mar 23 2009, 06:10 PM
Yeah, I thought she was like... a goner, until I saw the tear.
I mean there's gotta be some sort of protection from her own power, that she can like... melt herself back together or something.
If you look at it this way, even though she was shot in the heart, the pieces were shattered, not punctured. Parts are still there, just in very, very tiny pieces. If she melts back together ((granted all her pieces are still in that given area)) I think it's a possibility she could repair herself...

It was sad to see her go, but Heroes had to kill off a main character by the end of the season or there'd be a lot of bashing. I'll miss Tracy Strauss

I bet she made an ice figure of herself before HRG and Danko arrived to see. They werent frozen so they werent close enough to see what she did...

It makes "Heroessense" if she turned herself completely into ice. Shattering her wouldn't necessarily kill her if she was completely made of ice.
But what happens next, can she come back together or something? Can she turn to water and come back together, even though she's technically ice?

I don't think she's gone for a multitude of reasons, but first and foremost, the wink at the end is enough to hold me over. We haven't seen the last of Tracy Strauss I'm sure. Plus, why would the writers have an awesome scene like that, expand her powers, and then kill her? She'll be back by volumes end

I put this in the live discussion thread...
Iceman in X-men can reform parts of his body if they shatter and if he changes back to his flesh and blood form he still has that limb/area that was shattered as if it never broke off. So for Tracy the same thing can happen, all she has to do is...pull herself together lol.

I'm sorry, but I just can't get over this. If that blink and tear were more than just a symbolism to bid her character farewell, and she actually comes back from it, I'm gonna find it really hard not to switch the channel on this show, not because I hate her character, but because it's as far from realistic as it can possibly get. If they really want to keep Ali Larter just bring in the final twin, but please keep Tracy dead!

You may want to pick up some X-Men comics. Iceman turned himself completely into ice and was shattered once, but he was able to pull himself together because his powers evolved to the point where he could control the ice/water molecules in his body.
I don't think she's dead either.

Mar 23 2009, 06:25 PM
I see where you're coming from Mewt, but at the same time I think that the show has been stepping further and further from reality. If she shatters, and then reforms, I won't think too much of it. I mean, her powers are expanding, and she can turn herself to ice. It's not a stretch for me to think that she can pull herself back from that.

I actually have to disagree with this. We don't know the extent of Tracy's power. There's, in my opinion, no way that her own power can be the death of her, just like that. If there's something I've seen from every power, it's that each power comes with like... it's own security system. Back up, if you will. LoL. Except for flying... I need to rethink my theory.
Point is, nothing's impossible for Heroes.

Reforming herself by freezing the moisture in the air, I like it. Hopefully, I'm liking the character and the relationship between her and Micah / Rebel.
It was awesome indeed, great concept. I love the human emotion behind the "cold snap". Sometimes when you're just "bottled up" or stressed or something, whether that be emotionally, mentally, physically and so on, you just feel like you're going to snap. You have to just "let it out". I loved the "translation" of that with her power... as my interpretation goes.

And the ultimate answer to your question is as follows: Where was the blood? When a character dies on this show, especially a permanent and messy death, there's always blood.
If you're having trouble accepting this as easy to come back from (and it's by far the easiest death imaginable to come back from), you might as well turn the channel now. Because nothing about this show is, or has been, "believable."

You know, you're kind of right. I'm gonna finish watching this season because I just can't bring myself to leave this unfinished, but I'm definitely not coming back next year if Tracy does. This show is about people with extraordinary abilities, but it was part of its premise that it was meant to be grounded in reality. This would stray about as far from that as it can, so I really rather watch something else if this does happen. I guess I could give 24 another shot I suppose.
