Quick question. Are we using any of the movies, or only the RE games?

Co-GM? There isn't one...At least not at the moment, if I need one later on, then I shall recruit one.

As for the Resident Evil canon...None of the movies are considered to have taken place, therefore no Alice project.

As for the games, we're sort of playing fast and loose with the canon there. Some aspects of RE4 will be in place but others will not (for example, standard zombies are still going to be slow and use only minor melee weapons, not intelligent enough for guns or strong enough for chainsaws and such); and we'll be completely ignoring RE5.

So, basically, think back towards the first 3 games stylistically.

Personal History: Angela's life has been long and indeed very complicated, ranging from her involvement with a group of like-minded individuals who wanted to save the world, to the attempted murder of her husband, to the plan to blow up New York...Angela has been involved in the Umbrella-Primatech partnership since the beginning, using Umbrella founder Ozwell E. Spencer as nothing more than a puppet under her control. Anything Umbrella has done, can be traced back to Angela, making her a valuable target for anyone looking to expose the truth.

Psychological Profile: Angela is a person motivated by the best interest; she will do what she thinks is necessary, as long as it will protect her and serve her ends. She is manipulative and highly resourceful; anyone who calls her a friend does so at their own risk.

Personal History: Like all members of the Petrelli Family, Nathan has led a complicated life. After his first foray into politics ended suddenly, after the events of Kirby Plaza, Nathan lived a life that saw his marriage destroyed and pushed those he cared about away from him. Eventually, upon finding that his brother was still alive, Nathan managed to get his life back on track and help Peter prevent the Shanti Virus from being released in Odessa, Texas. However, when he tried to reveal evolved humans to the world, Nathan was shot by a future version of his brother.

Afterwards, Nathan came to side with his still alive father, Arthur; who had planned to create a formula to give abilities to the world. After Arthur was murdered, for good this time, Nathan had planned to continue his father's plan, but Pinehearst Research was destroyed and the formula went with it. Nathan was preparing to inform the government of the existence of evolved humans, but the outbreak in New York prevented him from doing so.

Angela confessed to Nathan that Primatech played a role in the outbreak, so now he is doing his best to protect his family name from further tarnish.

Psychological Profile: Nathan is a conflicted man; he believes in trying to do the best he can, but often finds himself easily manipulated by those around him. To an extent, he doesn't want to see people get hurt, but he also understands that sacrifices have to be made in the name of progress.

Personal History: Much of Noah's life before he joined the Company is not really known; at least, he makes sure no one really talks about it. He is married to Sandra Bennet, and the couple has one biological child, Lyle, and one adopted daughter, Claire. Noah is essentially Primatech's best agent, a man who always keeps his cool in tough situations and always seems to have a backup plan and another one in case the first one fails.

Noah left the company shortly before the events at Kirby Plaza when it was realized he was harbouring his daughter from the Company. Noah was eventually killed by Mohinder Suresh, but brought back via an infusion of his daughter's blood. After the Level 5 escape, Noah came back to the Company to help capture the escapees, a job he kept until Primatech burned to the ground.

After the outbreak, Noah was contacted by Angela to help keep the infection in check. Noah is currently leading Primatech's own personal security force into New York to help secure Primatech and Umbrella leaders and researchers, while also helping to destroy any link to the two companies and the outbreak.

Psychological Profile: Noah is a man who does what is necessary, for the greater good. His methods, like Nathan's, are usually morally suspect but have the best intentions at heart. Noah's only soft spot is for his family, which he will do anything to protect.

Preferred Weapon: Noah is comfortable with a wide degree of weapons, ranging from shotguns, sniper rifles, and machine guns; however, he is most comfortable with the reliable Strayer Voight Infinity 1911 .45 pistol that was standard use for Primatech Agents.

Personal History: Danko was enlisted by the Department of Homeland Security to investigate reports of strange attacks in upper New York State. After discovering the source of the attacks, zombies created by the release of the viruses stored by Umbrella and Primatech; Danko and his men were locked into quarantine with the rest of the state.

Danko was originally sent in with a twelve man team, all of which eventually fell victim to infection. Danko killed each of them personally, and continued on his own. He's been on his own for a month since the intial infection and has been scrounging ammuntion and supplies where he can.

Psychological Profile: Danko is a man who has a firm set of beliefs and anything outside of those beliefs is considered to be a threat. He does not trust easily, and believes in keeping on top of those around him.

Preferred Weapon: Like Noah, Danko has been trained with numerous weapons and seems comfortable with any kind of firearm in his possesion; although, he prefers to use his H&K USP pistol.

Ability (if any): Genetic Manipulation; Lesko's success in genetic research comes from his ability to manipulate the DNA and RNA in living subjects, he has used this ability to help successfully merge the Shanti Virus with both T and G Virus samples.

Profession: Umbrella Lead Researcher

Personal History: Lesko escaped communism after his parents fled Poland shortly after World War II. Lesko's father, a pro-Nazi supporter, had cursed the defeat of the 'Master Race' and bemoaned the destruction of the best chance for world peace. Lesko's father, also something of an amateur biologist, had worked with some Nazi Scientists performing experiments on living subjects. Lesko's father pushed him towards genetics as a means of continuing his dream of creating the perfect human subject.

Lesko graduated from Oxford with a biology degree in the 60s, and was quickly brought to the attention of Umbrella after his successful merging of two different kinds of genetic cells. Although Lesko had used his ability to do this, he was also successful in working backwards (breaking the organism apart) to recreate it using traditional laboratory equipment. Lesko rose through the ranks quickly in Umbrella's research division, rivaled only by William Birkin.

When the Raccoon City accident occurred, Lesko was quickly transferred out of Umbrella and over to Primatech to keep him safe if Umbrella was destroyed. Lesko was ordered by then leader, Robert Bishop, to merge Primatech's Shanti Virus with the Umbrella based viruses. Lesko did this quite easily, but required a longer period of time to recreate the success in normal lab standards. Lesko was not present when Primatech burned down, but warned Angela Petrelli that the viruses could escape, a notion she brushed off.

Lesko has since disappeared since the outbreak, perhaps he escaped the state when he realized what was going to occur. Others suggest that he is still in New York, attempting to find a cure.

Psychological Profile: Lesko is a man of science, first and foremost. He believes science should not have restrictions, or ethics, as it impedes progress. Despite this, he does seem to be mostly a good man, as he has tried in the past to get Umbrella and Primatech to abandon weaponized forms of the viruses and instead try to get them to be a helpful viruses to society.

Personal History: Leon was one of the few survivors from the Raccoon City incident, an event which propelled him to notority within the American Government. Leon's quick thinking and tactics helped him land a job within the Secret Service. At the time of the New York outbreak, Leon was assigned to help protect Senator Nathan Petrelli.

Leon recognized the scene instantly and helped get Petrelli out of the state, allowing the Senator to help set up a quarantine zone to prevent the virus from spreading. Petrelli, knowing Leon has experience with these situations, ordered Leon to create a team to go into the state and help gather up survivors.

Psychological Profile: Leon is a man of right and wrong, no middle ground. If he can help someone, he will risk anything to do so, and he will also risk anything to bring those who've done wrong to justice.

Personal History: Chris, like Leon, is one of the few survivors from the Raccoon City incident. Chris escaped the city with Jill Valentine after their experience at the Spencer Mansion. Afterwards, Chris became dedicated to two objectives: Stopping Umbrella and finding his sister, Claire.

Chris eventually did find his sister, who had also been ropped into Umbrella's twisted schemes, in Antarctica. Chris however also found an old enemy during his search for his sister, former S.T.A.R.S. Captain and Umbrella double agent Albert Wesker, who Chris thought had died in Raccoon City. After finding out Wesker was still alive, Chris added a third objective to his list: Stopping Wesker.

After the outbreak in New York State, the BSAA was called in and Chris was sent to help secure the area, a job the US Military was having complications with. Chris is, in effect, the leader of the quarantine project over New York State and is co-ordinating his efforts with Senator Petrelli to ensure that survivors can be helped before drastic measures are taken.

Psychological Profile: Chris, like Leon, has a firm sense of right and wrong and is willing to put himself into harms way to help those in need. Chris has a deep dedication to his family, but also to his mission of seeing Umbrella and their viruses destroyed once and for all.

Any firearm in his hand is capable of being fired even if it has no ammo. He doesn't know precisely how it happens, but his ability seems to form bullets out of tissue that almost immediately regenerates inside his body. The major downside is that every bullet so formed weakens him in proportion to it's size. (A pistol bullet, being smaller, takes less than a shotgun or rifle would.) Also, he cannot keep it up indefinitely. He's never pushed his limits, but he realizes he grows weaker and more tired the longer he keeps it up. If he pushes too long, it could kill him. (He keeps high protein snacks, usually jerky, on hand because it helps restore energy.)

Profession: Nature Photographer. Also organized hunting and fishing trips.

Personal History: Loving husband and devoted father. Lived in Raccoon City with his wife, Lacey, and his son, Mitch. Since Mitch enjoyed hunting and fishing, but Lacey didn't, James had his son on a hunting trip in upstate New York when the T-Virus outbreak happened. She had been working in the hospital, became infected, and ultimately died.
James moved to upstate New York with his son in order to grieve and find out what really happened. Ultimately, they were in New York when that outbreak occurred. They were walking the streets when attacked by T-Virus zombies. While they ran to a gunshop to try and fend them off, Mitch (twelve at the time) was bitten, but never told his father.
Snatching up a pair of semi-automatic pistols, James slammed home the proper magazines and tossed one to his son. Together, they fought off the attack. At the end, Mitch turned and became one of the shambling undead. With tears in his eyes, James was forced to kill his own son.
After it was over, he felt extremely weak, even light headed, and hungry. It wasn't until he went to safe the gun that he realized what had happened. Although he had fired at least fifty shots, the clip was empty and had only held 20.
Since then, he has wandered the city, killing the zombies when he has to, hiding in order to survive. He's heard there are other survivors. Mainly, he wants to find a way to uncover the truth of Umbrella's work and reveal it to the world. He's also heard rumors that another group was secretly running Umbrella while performing their own research.

Psychological Profile: Although he tends to be quiet and retiring in nature, since both hunting and fishing have taught him the value of planning and patience, he will take charge when the need arises and he is not afraid to lead. That being said, he prefers to stay in the background and will rarely assert authority. When attacked though, since he has survived on his own, he will immediately issue orders on how best to handle the assault.
Since he holds Umbrella and the organization behind them directly responsible for the deaths of his family, he will stop at nothing to expose and destroy them. Everything he does furthers that end.
He's seen what happens when people are bitten and infected and, since being forced to kill his own son, is willing to kill anyone who is so infected. He can be argued down, but he will continue to keep a close eye on the infected person.

Personal History: Upon graduating High school, he went to M.I.T. for the first few weeks, he used his powers to the best he can, only to find attention and admiration upon him. Not wanting anyone to know he exsited he resorted to only use his power when absolutly needed, and insited to work by hand, leaving him to be an average student. After graduating he went to work for Umbrella Tech support, and after it's acuistion by Primatech, he worked for their tech support.

Psychological Profile: Passive aggressive, will ultimatly work privately, disliking most human contact. Sarcastic, and untrusting of most of those around him. Full of himself, and his intelligence. Most call him an honey, and he does little to change that perception about himself. Can be vengeful.

I'm making mine right now. I'm having a hard time looking for a picture and theme song though. lol

Well, bad guys are a matter of perspective...

If you want to work for Umbrella/Primatech, go ahead. If you want to be a random survivor wandering around New York State; go ahead.

If you want to work against the survivors...Well, nothing's really stopping you. If your character would be a two-faced son of a...gun..who would say one thing to his/her group, then do something else to save themselves...Go ahead.

For the most part, 'official' bad guy status isn't up for grabs until our two main antagonists are revealed and join the game. Then of course there will be the chance to join up with them, if you can trust them, and work towards their goals. Although, most of the bad guys don't play well with others...

From a certain perspective; anyone associated with Leon and Chris are likely to end up good guys. Nathan, Angela, Bennet and Danko associates are a bit of both, given that they're not exclusively good or evil...for now.

As for our third group, which will show up at an appropriate time...Well, they'll be the evilest people you can think of.

The only thing is, if you're working for Umbrella, you're likely to be reporting to Lasko or Angela, given their roles in the Company. Is one good and one evil? -shrugs- Maybe, maybe not.

Basically, its survive and thrive...Do what you need to do...provided you follow the rules

Not all the NPCs are listed at the moment, so anything is possible in terms of who is going to show up from either Heroes or Resident Evil. So, anything/anyone is possibly already involved.

Personal History: Barry is another survivor of the Raccoon City incident, and is responsible for saving the life of fellow survivors Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveria shortly before Raccoon City was destroyed. Since the destruction of Raccoon City, Barry has tried to put it all behind him, moving to California and becoming a police officer there.

Barry has been struggling with his first actions during the mission the Spencer Mansion, in which he was forced by S.T.A.R.S. Captain Albert Wesker, to help manipulate the other team members into their deaths or risk his own family. Barry has been trying to atone for his actions ever since, and sees this as an opportunity to final get a clean slate.

Psychological Profile: Barry is a man who will do anything for those that he cares about. However, his deep affection for these people can be used to manipulate him, has has been done in the past.

Personal History:

Seth Moses Avery was born on May 4th to Charlotte Avery in Lancaster, California. His mother, Charlotte, was a single woman who, after a whirlwind romance with an Aboriginal man in Australia that lasted for a mere two months, found herself pregnant a few months after she had returned to America. She decided early on to keep Seth and raise him on her own, and they were a relatively happy little family for quite some time. When Seth was 7 years old, his mother married a man name Alan Wallace, who became his stepfather, and, later in life, Seth's best friend. His sister Kaya was born when Seth was 9, followed by Aereign and Mohonri when he was 11 and 13, and finally Jannilyn when he was 17. Being the oldest, and also the only boy in his family could be tiring, but he loved his sisters and, once he was older, spoiled them mercilessly.

When Seth was 15, he discovered he had a special talent, he could control and generate magnetic fields. It took him a long time to come to terms with his uniqueness, as he was already considered a "freak" by his peers, because he wasn't interested in sports or cars or scantily clad women, like the other boys in his school, he loved writing, which was his passion, and had never taken a girl out on a date. Later in life he learned not to care what other people thought of him, he was who he was, and he wouldn't change for anyone but himself. After he graduated high school, he packed his bags and entered Boston University to get a degree in English. It was there he met his partner, Matthias Moscovitz, who was studying painting. They quickly became friends, and then, something more. By the time they graduated, Seth and Matthias were a serious couple (Much to the dismay of Matthias' parents, who were Orthodox Jews, and very conservative), and were soon married in the state of Massachusetts.

Before the outbreak, Seth temporarily relocated to New York, the state where is most recent novel took place, so he could observe everyday life in the state and do it justice in his novel. He was there when the outbreak occured. He managed to survive, hiding, and fighting when he needed to, keeping the gun he carried for self-defense purposes only in decent condition, with plenty of ammo. His only thought right now is to find his way out of New York and back to Boston and to Matthias.

Psychological Profile:

Seth is a very determined person, with a one-track mind. Once he's got it in his head to do something, he won't stop until he achieves it, or dies trying. He's not as outgoing and friendly as his husband, Matthias, but he's a generally agreeable person. He's a total neat freak, and hates when Matthias leaves all his stuff lying around. He's a lover, not a fighter, and only believes in violence and weapons for self-defense. Seth is a hopeless romantic, and believes that there is a soulmate for everyone. Though he is not a dedicated Buddhist, Seth has adopted many of the beliefs that were taught by Buddha, such as the belief that Karma exists, and that good Karma will make for a better life, and bad Karma will make things more difficult for life. He's energetic and bubbly, and has often been compared to a puppy. He's very trusting of people, sometimes too trusting, and must learn to be more wary if he's going to make it out of New York alive.

Personal History: Born to a single mother, she left her mother and two other siblings to persue a career at Umbrella in genetics. Scientists would test animals with the viruses, and Helen would use her ability to moniter the animal's survival.
Helen grew up estranged from society, unable to control her ability as a child, she was overwealmed by it. She spent countless hours alone in the dark, but was still able to see the aura's of her family through the walls. One incident that haunts her, is when she visited an uncle in jail. She was 10-year-old at the time, and had never come across someone with a negative aura. As she passed on of the cells, she recognised one of the men from the news. A mass murderer serving life in prison. She had still not managed to control her ability, and saw not light like other people, but a dark, black flame. This continued to haunt her until she found solace in sleeping pills.
Psychological Profile: She currently has an addiction to sleeping pills to help her with the dark flame incident and deal with the guilt of helping Umbrella develop the viruses.

Do you need to have watched the movies to play in the game?

The movies aren't canon. by canon, I mean for this game. But I would think it advisable to have played the original games.

You know...I never knew where all the Sherry Birkin history after the Racoon City incident comes from. Does anyone know? Is there an epiloque movie in RE2 i just haven't seen where she's taken by the U.S. Government.

^ I think there was some game for the DS or PSP or Gameboy, or one of the handheld consoles that explained a bit more about what happened to Sherry after the Raccoon City incident.

Preferred Weapon: Zombies generally have two methods of attack; using their hands to grab or knock down victims, and also their teeth. Infection cannot be spread through scratches, only bites, however zombies seem to prefer to eat and destroy victims rather than just attack to increase their numbers.

Preferred Weapon: Hunters are known for using their claws to quickly dispatch their enemies. Before the tumours make it difficult for Hunters to move, they are known for lunge attacks that can be highly destructive on anything it attacks. Previous Umbrella test reports show that Hunters are often fond of swiftly decapitating their victims with one lunge swipe, then coming back to feed.

Personal History: The Nemesis project is a specially designed Tyrant with increased intelligence and programming which allows it to be used for singular objectives when deployed in the field. Preferred Weapon: Unlike other Tyrants, Nemesis does not have the modified claws on the right hand. Instead, Nemesis has been trained to use rocket launchers to help accomplish his goals. In lieu of an actual weapon, the Nemesis can project tentacles from his hands which can be used to impale and pierce victims. The tentacles also help spread samples of the T-Virus, ensuring the victim will reanimate upon their death.

Personal History: Lickers are the result of continued exposure to the T-Virus, as well as grievous harm to the host. Harm causes a mutation that forces the body to respond to the damage it has taken, the result often results in mutation that can result in lickers being created. If reinfection to the T-Virus occurs during this harm, the subject will have a 100% chance of becoming a licker. Although blind, the licker makes up for this disability with a very acute sense of hearing. It is a dangerous creature due to its ability to climb walls and ceilings, allowing it to hide in places people might otherwise ignore.

Preferred Weapon: The licker is a creature who uses various weapons in combat; mostly, the creature relies on it's long tongue to impale and drag victims towards it. If the target is already close enough, it may just lunge at the target and proceed to attack them with it's teeth and claws.

Personal History: After his parents, former Umbrella Researchers, were killed in a car crash when he was 16, Victor's life became intwined with Umbrella. They paid for his college career and even helped him find a job placement within Umbrella. He was not a notable researcher, given that he made no major breakthroughs or advancements during his time there, but Umbrella felt a certain kinship to him given the death of his parents.

He was transferred from Raccoon City two days before the outbreak to the facility in Hartsdale under Primatech's control. He's been working there since the outbreak.

Psychological Profile: Victor is a suspecious man, always believing that there was more to his parents' death than a car accident. Although he is slightly paranoid, he does come to trust those he sees as kindred spirits.

An a slightly OT note..I always wondered if the guys who created Venom for Marvel took the basic look of the costume from a Licker.

Well, Venom is from the late 80's. RE2 was '98.
So I'd guess the other way around.

Profession: Serial Killer

Personal History: The S Type Tyrant was born out of a freak accident. During the burning down of Primatech Research, notorious serial killer Gabriel 'Sylar' Gray was reportedly dead inside the building. After the fire had burned out, collection teams found the body and found it was already beginning to mutate given exposure to the T, G, T-Veronica and S Viruses. Sylar's own cellular regeneration allowed the viruses to exist with one another inside the host, allowing the creation of a new type of virus we have yet to name.

Sylar immediately began to evolve into the tyrant mutation, which is incredibly rare to occur. We moved the body to a cryostasis chamber in our Primatech Warehouse and began to impliment mind shaping devices to make this tyrant as obdient as the Nemesis Type. It is currently in cryogenic sleep, waiting further testing.

Psychological Profile: The original Sylar was a psychopathic sociopath who took what he wanted from whoever got in his way. There were moments when he showed kindness or sympathy towards others, but even the slightest push could put him back on his murderous track. Our evolved mind control techniques should help keep the S-Type in line.

Preferred Weapon: Given his distinctive mutations, the S Type is still able to access some of his original abilities. His regeneration allows his brain to remain intact enough to access these abilities, however they will not come as easily as when he was fully human. As such, the S-Type prefers to use these abilities as opposed to his hands and other instruments.

It's not required reading, but it fleshes out Danko's first encounter with the Nemesis creature in Angola and how that situation occurred and was dealt with. It also provides small clues about who Danko's mysterious helping figure is.
