The scene in the church, when Peter and Angela are hiding in the confession box, HRG steps in. Peter seems to have his hand up, looking directly at HRG.. do you think he inadvertantly used telepathy he didn't know he had in order to turn him away, or did HRG make the decision on his own to keep them safe?
I keep rewatching the scene and I'm still not sure. HRG looks like he did it on his own.. but the more I think about Peter this episode, he seems to be going back to the way he cares and connects to people. He had such a touching scene with his mom, and he's connecting to her like we haven't seen. He's definitely not as unforgiving this episode, as we have seen him earlier this volume. Perhaps his passion for helping people is allowing him to reconnect with his ability to call on previous abilities. Thoughts?

I definitely think it was Bennet letting them go free. He seems to have a soft spot for Angela, and he wants her out of Danko's clutches, for some reason.
I still say Peter's gonna stay one powered for the rest of the season, possibly longer.

That scene was definitely put there to show Noah's alliance. I don't think that there is (or was supposed to be anyways) much doubt about what side Noah has been on this Volume. He's not for bringing in all specials, only the dangerous ones. He's using Danko and definitely wasn't going to turn in Angela and Peter. I felt like he was more surprised to see them just sitting there than anything else.
Plus, as much as people hate it (for whatever reason) Peter only has flight, and until he takes something else from someone else, that's all that he has.

There's no evidence that Peter used telepathy (no sound effects, etc.) I think HRG just saw Angela and felt like he owed her something and let them both go.

Noah made the decision on his own. You saw his disgusted expression just before he gave the All Clear? He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to do it, but did it anyway.

I don't think he looked disgusted. I thought he looked more resigned.

I'm pretty sure it was HRG thinking for himself. If it were Peter, we would've heard that weird, mind-reading sound effect, right?

Seemed pretty obvious that Bennett let them go. Bennett's facial expression plus the lack of any sound effects make it clear.

I think it's endearing to see this sort of post popping up after every episode. Peter used a different power! Peter used a different power! There! *points*

Yeah definitely HRG's call, he knows Angela is trying to help him and also knows deep down Peter is a good guy so would gain nothing from bringing them in.

Of course it was Noah, and I actually liked that scene a lot. It was very well-filmed with Noah noticing them and then giving the All Clear. And why would you assume Peter has telepathy? Did you see him meeting Matt at the church after landing there?

No, it's another instance of "Peter recalled an ability without having to reabsorb it!"
... which we seem to be having after every episode.

I never thought it was Peter.
When HRG opened the door, he had this look like "Aw...wtf...You're actually hiding out in here?" Then the way Angela looked at him and him at her...you see him decide to let them go. It was sympathy, loyalty, and caring that HE chose to use.
Also, Peter wanted a "sign". The "bad guys" might have walked in, but it was HRG out of all of them that opened that door and let them escape.

No one has mentioned that Peter has FLIGHT now yet..

Because it's unimportant to the purposes of this discussion. It was a case of someone thinking Peter had "recalled" a power.

After hearing him argue with God, I was half expecting him to use an old power to get them out of there, but that looked like Noah's decision.

God it was written all over Noah's face, it was an amazing acting job on Jack's part, plus Peter only has one power at once.

Yeah, I can't believe people are thinking this! Noah clearly gave the "I was hoping I wouldn't be forced to make this choice" face. Jack Coleman is simply awesome.

Peter placing his hand to that direction and the look on his face only showed us that he was reaching for his mother being afraid they will take her away. It was a sign in my opinion that he cares for her and don't want her to be taken away.
It was a very well played scene of all 3 actors and I liked it a lot.
I never doubted that Noah would give Angela away ever.
I think much more that he took the assignment for two reasons.
1) to have Danko trusting him more.
2) to make sure that if Angela comes in the line of fire, he is there to get her out.
They always showed us that they have a special bond that goes over a just being a employ or boss.
It's good old Friendship and the things their both families has being going through the years.
Also the common goal both Angela and Noah always had which was: Protect Claire!

No one has mentioned that Peter has FLIGHT now yet..
I actually mentioned it twice, but I guess I was being too subtle about it.
What I actually meant with both my posts was "Bwaaaah, I can't believe people still can't accpet Peter has only one ability at a time!!111"

I loved the symbolism in the whole scene though. I completely agree that this was the sign Peter had prayed for - "Look, it's not the whole world that's against you."
It was about time that Peter realised that, seeing as Noah has now saved/spared Peter's life
four times this season.
