Full Version: Why can't Hiro just beat Sylar?

i've read in the forums that there are 3 people who can defeat sylar: peter (he is sylar's perfect match powerwise), the haitian (he can nullify sylar's abilities then erase his memories, possibly diminishing them to a baby's memories), and matt (he could put sylar into an illusion)

why not add hiro?
cause i was wondering, why can't hiro just stop time so that he'll incapacitate sylar, and in turn, kill him with his katana?
sadly, if sylar catches hiro, he'll incapacitate him first with his tk, but ONLY if sylar catches him. maybe hiro will hide then do his time trick. and should he be caught by sylar, he can always teleport. after all, he uses his mind to access his time space ability, not his body.

so, any thoughts on this one?

At the end of season 1 Hiro did stab Sylar in Kirby Plaza.
You are correct; Hiro could but probably won't.

Hiro can not teleport at this point in the story line, just stop time.
Stopping time and a desire to kill Sylar is all that is needed to do the job on Hiro's part.
Hiro can stop time yes, but he doesn't have the heart to just kill someone yet outside the heat of battle.

Remember what Hiro told Matt: Killing in the heat of battle is one thing...

Why can't Hiro just beat Sylar?, He's got what it takes...
For the same reason that Tom never beats Jerry. Whatever their strengths, story heirarchy will always take precedent.

It is easier to imagine Sandra giving Sylar a slap on the head than for Hiro to kill Sylar.

Because the only way for Hiro to beat Sylar is to kill him- and Hiro is not, and never will be, a killer. (The only version of him where we've seen him as a killer involved circumstances that will never happen.)
paigequinto
I think Hiro should win him over with kindness. smile.gif

we never know right? i mean, things change in the show. maybe if sylar kills kimiko, or better yet, kills ando to get his power, that'll enrage hiro and and in turn trigger a vengeance in him, thus compelling him to avenge their deaths.

Hiro did it in Kirby Plaza and I think he would definitely do it again if he found out Sylar is still alive. And I hope he does (find out/kill him).
cLEmbeaR
i realized that hiro still doesn't know sylar is alive, right?
if he knows, he'llget back his katana and kill sylar for good. i say chop him to pieces. then it's bye bye sylar. hahahaha. LOL

Last time Hiro saw Sylar, he made him and Elle disappear.

Hiro couldn't bring himself to kill Adam, the man who murdered his father and wanted to wipe out most of humanity. Outside of a battle, I doubt Hiro would kill anyone in cold blood.
cLEmbeaR
oops, hiro already knew sylar was alive.

but he had a childs mind so it could easily slip his mind (though it's unlikely as Syalr makes one hell of an impact on people)

Actually, it didn't slip his mind. He was completely regressed to a child in his mind, and all memory of anything that had happened in his adult life vanished.
