Many times in this episode, they mention Alice feeling cold at night because she forgot to bring socks and all... What I wonder is, if she can control the weather, then how comes she didn't set the temperature to a more agreable point?

It's no critics, I'm just curious about your ideas on this! tongue.gif

Synch
She apparently didn't have that level of control.

It wasn't even until they had been in the camp for a while that she realized it.

Anyway, to Synch: Though indeed Alice may not have full control of her powers, that's far from impossible, I think she knew before, inside of her, that she had something. Since the hail broke her dad's car! Maybe she didn't consciously realized it, but I think she knew in her that she had something to do with it...

Yeah, I mean, there has to be some degree of temperature control, she made it snow in Arizona, but i think her ability is more the fact it happens, not the weather surrounding it.

I'm not sure how having control of the weather would translate into being able to control your body temperature.
Zik
Alordo, please tell me you're not serious!
evagolden
He's probably not, but just in case, I was not talking about changing her body temperature, but changing the outside temperature, so that it would be desert day temp. in the middle of the night (ok, I'm exagerating here, but you know the deal!)

Not that Alice had/has it, but I have Raynaud's phenomenon. Usually my "cold" feet happens when it is pretty cold out, but I have instances in intense heat of having cold feet. I've even had attacks in Mexico when it was near 100. Not only are my feet cold but they go numb and lose all colour. For a long time I thought it was weather related (well, it is, in a way), but it is also due to stress and a compromised immune system. Seems Alice was under quite a bit of stress. wink.gif
I'm just saying that it is possible for it to be hot...but to be/feel cold.
In fact, even in the summer, I have to sleep with a blanket on me (no air conditioning here). Just saying...

I think it's a bit of a control issue here. I'm not so sure she'd be able to easily manipulate the weather outside to the right temperature to keep her feet warm inside. She was in more of a getting to know her power stage.

LOL Sorry, I was being silly. smile.gif Forgive my silliness and don't report me to a mod. And, yes, Eye, there is that factor right there. My wife explained it to me. She is a medical professional after all. smile.gif

My poor dad is always cold. He lives in Florida. Even when it is 110 outside he hates to put on the airconditioner and walkes around the house with a heavey sweater on.

I can understand Alice having cold feet.
waiheke
i think she could have done it but it simply didn't occur to he to do so.i also agree that some people just seem to struggle with cold feet even in mild weather.
evagolden
Hmm, yeah, maybe so... But in that case, wouldn't Alice had cold feet even with socks on? I don't know there, I'm no medical specialist, but I feel that if Alice's cold feet was medical-related, socks would be useles...

You can sometimes have cold feet even with socks. In my case, they (doctors) still tell me to keep my feet covered and as warm as I can. But, yeah, I've had thick socks on and shoes and it still feels like my feet are being soaked in ice. Circulation problems do that.
Plus, just the fact that they are young, they probably just assume...cover your feet, and they will be warm. For Alice, in her mind, that's what she needed.

I have a question. I'm assuming you can draw, even if not that great. (No judgements- most of my drawn people look like extremely ugly aliens, so...)

The first thing you learn is how to draw. That means shapes, outlines, sometimes the general look of a person.

Only after practice, a lot of it, can you do fine detail work.

Alice learned she could control the weather- but she was already at the camp when she learned she could. Which means she was stuck with the "broad" aspects of the power- total weather manipulation. She never had a chance, in the camp, to learn the fine detail aspects.

Her feet were cold because she couldn't warm them up.
dcg
They were also cold because she didn't bring any changes of clothes including a pair of socks. She might have tossed and turned in her sleep so that her feet stuck out from the covers at night.

I think a simple explanation is: she can't keep using her power when she is asleep... laugh.gif
