Has a pm flood control feature been enabled (it seems that something like it has been released recently)?

It's never my intention to spam others or send messages that others could consider junk (though, it would be their judgment call, actually), yet it seems like something like that has been instituted. I guess it acts like how the posting flood control works - in this case, a person has to wait for some span o' time before sending a pm - however, it's not like I get the notice to wait before sending a pm because I had just recently sent one within the last minute or anything.

I can get a notice that I received a pm, click to read it, and then, when I wanna reply, that's when I get the board message that I hafta wait until a certain time to start a new pm, even though I hadn't sent a previous pm any relatively short time previously. So, I haven't been gettin' the notice to wait because I am firing off a bunch of pm's in rapid succession or anything.

Just wonderin' if that's a new "feature" of the boards. unsure.gif I understand it would have a purpose, though. Not knockin' that part of it.

Has anyone else been having this or a similar problem with the PM system? As far as I can tell, the patch in the link HERO posted hasn't been implemented.

Sooo... Is it a function of how many pm's a person has sent over the life of the account? 'Cuz then maybe I may have tipped the scales on some pm counter and set it off?

Ah-ha!

I found the setting and changed it back to "normal". We haven't had a PM spam problem here that I'm aware of, so I don't see a need for the Flood Control at this point in time. If it becomes a problem in the future, we'll make adjustments as needed. andoface3.gif
