Full Version: Sylar’s jealousy?

Did anyone else catch how jealous Sylar looked when he was looking at the photo of Peter and Nathan? Methinks he misses Peter… or at the very least the idea of having a loving family.
Brennan
I think he's a Nut. Plain and simple.

We saw earlier this season how Sylar inwardly pines for belonging and family. He resents his humble origins, which make him insecure about his own sense of uniqueness, and he seemed to like the idea of having Angela for a mother and Peter as a brother. Nathan has all of these things- in many ways, he has just the life Sylar has always wanted.

Yes Sylar is very jealous of Nathan or anybody who was given all the advantages the Petrelli boys were. He mentioned family and money, probably sees Nathan of having these plus he was loved, had friends, guidance from his parents, success, respect, status and position. Sylar had none of the above. At times I am amazed how some on this board seem to show an almost jealousy toward Syalr because of all his powers. The guys is miserable on the inside and power does not buy happiness. I believe Sylar is realizing this and seeing just how lonely, unhappy, shallow and meaningless his life is right now and he is having a breakdown. Next week will prove interesting. Wonderful character study here.

Yeah, I was thinking jealousy when Sylar was in Nathan's office.
V2Blast
He feels jealous because Nathan's family loved him and showed it. He didn't have the same opportunity.

I beg to differ, I think Sylar's "mom" told him she loved him many times.

My thoughts exactly.

Yes,it did seem that Sylar was feeling jealous of Nathan at that point. He was mentioning how Nathan had everything from the beginning. However, his mother did point out to him that she had always loved him,and despite him not being born with a silver spoon,he had the oppurtunity to achieve more than Nathan has ever achieved. So,I don't think jealousy will be much of an issue from now on.
ShinyHunter
I think he's jealous of Nathan's family but more resentful than jealous of the silver spoon thing. He craves the support of loved ones and the feeling of belonging. However I think he doesn't like the fact that Nathan sort of had the path cleared for him on the way to being 'speshul' while he worked so hard. He probably believes that Nathan doesn't deserve any of it.

The first one . . . or at least I can hope. I swear before this series is over there better be at least one episode where many butts need to be kicked and they team up to do so.
GoldSeven
Even if he misses Peter - which I strongly doubt - Peter in all probability doesn't miss him...

Methinks Sylar is unaware of Peter's new problem. The second he knows Peter can't heal, and isn't the same as him (Sylar) anymore in terms of being able to have multiple abilities..I think he will forget about his desire to have a big brother. Or little. Yeah, I suppose little brother...Anyway, he'll probably just try to kill him.

Or maybe he has gained some sort of..admiration for Peter. Peter is like, the parallel of him. I am interested to see what happens next with these two.

If Peter doesn't get in his way, Sylar won't bother. He didn't bother with Luke and he didn't bother with Micah (yet) and the last thing he'll want is a broken ability which allows the user to hang onto one power at a time. And something tells me that Sylar thinks Peter owes him a favour for that throwing out of a window incident.
GoldSeven
I agree with ShinyHunter - last time, he let Peter live because Peter had nothing he wanted. Of course, he also did it to annoy Peter, and make him feel completely insignificant.

There's no way he'll want to kill him for his ability, but he might still want to kill him if he gets in his way. Which he has a knack for and probably will.

Knowing Sylar he'd probably find a way to "fix" Peter's ability so it goes back to the original EM.
