The first time Hiro brought it up, I assumed that he found "crimson" ladylike because you usually only hear fancy, specific words for colors if you're doing interior decorating. At least, I do. Eventually, though, I figured out what he was talking about. I think more people would have picked up on the joke if "Crimson Wave" had been used instead.

Monalisa, the movie is amazing. Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington, fighting for control of a nuclear submarine that has orders to nuke Russia. Great great movie, thought sadly it has nothing to do with "that time of the month".

While I don't have any knowledge of Japanese, I can tell you that the Spanish used in season two was loosely translated from what was actually said and what was in the subtitles.
