Seriously. I thought that Peter borrowed Sylar's ability at first during the fight, and then in the limo Papa Petrelli'd him. Then Sylar shapeshifts in the next scene! And come to think of it Peter didn't seem to heal, he still had scratch marks at the body burning scene. So WHY shapeshifting? It's not like it would have been the most recent ability Sylar had used, Sylar was in his true form while fighting them, in the totally awesome blue-spark scene.

Seriously, Claire's eye at the door, blue sparks being heard and kind of seen? Beautiful, this show deserves an emmy just for that.

Oh, and maybe Parkman should have told Sylar when Nathaifying him.. 'You have no powers at all, so next season we won't have to watch you slowly realise that you're Sylar.'

Come to think of it, wouldn't the couch he was on have told him what happened? Angela spoke of the ability as if it was an unconscious thing.

God I hated the second half of this episode.

I don't know how he did it, but it was cool as hell.

Peter absorbed Sylar's "badass who can do whatever the FANTASTIC he wants cause he's Sylar" ability.

Sylar was a shapeshifter. Peter was a shapeshifter. Since two telepaths can cause feedback and interrupt their abilities, I imagine a shapeshifter can muck up another shapeshifters power when they interact like that.

This, or the shock of absorbing the DNA of someone other than who he expected snapped him back to his true form - without Peter doing anything to make it happen.

I just thought it was as simple as Sylar was trying to turn in to the man sitting in front of him. As he focused he couldn't do it because the man in front of him wasn't really the man in front of him lol so he just kind of had a short circuit.

Considering the quality of everything else in this episode, they should have had Sylar turn into Ben Affleck in a Daredevil suit.

I think the reason why sylar shapeshifted back was that he was desperately trying to shift to the president and when he after several tries failed (we saw that he was totally confused), he got back in his original form in which peter than surprised him because he never expected that to be someone else than the president.

I think that was Peter using his abilites in a very smart way. Too bad he couldn't rescue Nathan because he'd already lost flight and taken shapeshifting. That was probably the plan all along, to take shapeshifting and switch places with the president. But the plan cost Nathan his life. crying.gif
