Everything Nathan has ever tried to do, hes messed up. Hes easily manipulated, easily bribed, and makes horrible judgement calls. Where the heroes are today is because of him. Their secret is out because he went off the deep end.

Now look at this another way. Sylar is technically Nathan now and will be making decisions for our heroes again. However, now that Sythan has the ability to see how things work, he has gained the know how to make proper decisions. He now lacks that impulse that drove us to where we are today - ignorance.

I think "Redemption" is Nathan realizing that something is wrong, but still doing the right thing. Using Sylars abilities for good instead of evil and fixing all that has gone wrong. There will be struggles along the way with both personalities coming out at certain times, but I think in the end Nathan's strengths will overcome Sylar and we will see someone sacrificing everything to save the world.

I think Sylar/Nathan is going to turn out to be the hero, and will be killed off at the end of the season - FINALLY.

It would be nice if Nathan turns out to be a good guy, but I think it's pretty obvious that Sylar will resruface again once he remembers enough... unfortunately. I <3 Nathan/Adrian Pasdar but Sylar is probably gonan appear again cause everyone just loves ZQ (I love him too, but I am just so tired of Sylar =-=) so yeah. I also hope Adrian Pasdar doesn't leave the show...
GoldSeven
Pasdar has got off for a while, no more. I'm (sort of) happy that he's still there (this is an improvement over last night when I was thinking I'd rather have Nathan dead than this) and he gets to play at least a character who THINKS that he is Nathan (most of the time), but I expect Sylar to re-emerge for good after no more than one season at most. And if he does, I expect Peter to be the one to notice it, and kill Sylar once and for all. If anything else happens, I'll break something.

bbplayer, if by "Nathan is ***** up" you mean that Nathan doesn't exist anymore, I agree with you. Sythan is not Nathan. Nor is he Sylar. I think we can safely assume he will never be 100% Nathan, but will certainly be 100% Sylar again at some point in the future. I could imagine that Sythan can combine both his "base creatures"'s better traits for the time being, and do some good for the world, but everything he does is doomed. And rightly so.

There's a strong possibility that next season will be the last anyway, so don't get too hung up on Adrian eventually being let go. He'll probably make it to the end of the show, just like everyone else.
JentheFangirl
The way it SHOULD go, Nathan is gonna win the confrontation between him and Sylar. It is looking more and more like it is Nathan's mind in Sylar's body. A conflict of minds is going to be rather intriguing.

And I'm not speculating on baseless information; Buckshotwon has spoken.
GoldSeven
In the beginning, certainly. I don't think Adrian can speak past the first few episodes. But after a few episode, we'll see "Nathan" losing that struggle.
Aces
here's an idea. why don't we at least entertain the idea the original post suggests for about five minutes.
SuperT
Yea, I hate how the first couple of people in this thread were referring to "it" as Nathan. That is not Nathan, Nathan is dead it's Sylar.
Leek
Nathan is dead.

It isn't, however, really Nathan. It is Sylar believing he is Nathan. There is a big difference there. Since it's not Nathan and the REAL Nathan we've come to know since season one is dead, a fan like me isn't going to give a crap how the Sylar as Nathan plot is going to unfold. It's not Nathan finding redemption as a few fans seem to want to believe, it is a Sylar identity crisis plot, plain and simple. It's another plot device to keep a character who has worn out his usefulness around just a bit longer because fan girls are in love with the actor who portrays him. Zach Quinto is a decent actor, but keeping Sylar lagging around for contrived reasons is just hurtful as a whole to the show.
SuperT
Exactly. It's not Nathan so who the heck cares if it's redeemed? The real Nathan that needed the Redemption is dead now.

...to come back in a spin-off called "The NEW adventures of OLD Nathan".
He will be a ghost inhabiting a new hero with an ability of being a ghost-vessel.
The story will be about Nathan's struggle not beeing able to leave the show.

Several rumors say there will be cool effects.

Thank you. Thats what makes me mad. The next volume is called "Redemption" and the person who needed it the most they killed off. This is not Nathan its Sylar glare.gif Everything he does even if its Nathan like isn't him.

This might be a tip off...
Peter: Wait a second you mean he’s got some original, GOOD ideas for once and turned down the invitation to be some mobster's puppet bribes? Something fishy is definetly going on here…

...Nathan obviously screwed up badly in this particular volume, but he's hardly messed up "everything he's ever tried to do." It was Nathan who came to the rescue at the ends of both the first two seasons; our heroes are where they are now "because of Nathan," yes, but they're also alive because of him. I do agree, however, that the next season will probably see "Nathan" discover the truth, have an internal battle for control with Sylar, and ultimately take over and make some kind of heroic sacrifice to prevent whatever dastardly plans Sylar may have cooked up while he was in charge.
