I think that it's kinda a joke for the writers/cast. Nobody remembers Lyle.

I agee that it could be a jock but as far as i remember sylar has had runnins with mr. muggles but non with lyle. it is a big possibility that it is a jock since sylar can remember everything he has experienced since birth (charlie's power).

It was because sylar meet muggles in s1 and s2 while he only saw lyle in s2 for like 2 seconds before hiro tps in and takes sylar to the beach.

Sylar lost that ability when he got the Shanti Virus at the beginning of Season 2. The only ones he retained are his original ability (Intuitive Aptitude) and Telekinesis.
