I don't normally do this kind of stuff, but I thought it'd be an interesting challenge to see how I could write a finale. I haven't fully fleshed it out, but I've thought about what was wrong with the finale, and how to fix it.

One: there was a certain lack of tension and drama. Landslide set things up for a very intense finale, but things sort of deflated (it felt like the episode was meandering), and scenes that should have been dramatic (Sylar and Ando) fell flat. I want to make sure that my finale has moments of intensity peppered throughout.

Two: the final fight. I understand this is a TV show, and TV shows like this can have budget problems (though, Heroes was an extremely profitable show back in the day, so I don't see why NBC would cut down). But I have a fight in mind that doesn't need millions and millions of dollars to exist, but at the same time, is a satisfying all-out brawl (at least, I hope it is.)

Three: the forced attempts at dramatic situations. See: Ando in Landslide. And based on this, I am reworking several things in Landslide but still have characters in dramatic situations.

Now, here are two important things to change in Landslide: Jessica and D.L.'s confrontation with Linderman. The big thing is that this is the opportunity to get Linderman to spill on all that he knows about that the Sanders-Hawkins clan. Basically, the truth about Jessica. My spin on in it is that Jessica had an ability--to project her consciousness onto others. When she died, she transferred herself into Niki in a last ditch-effort to protect her from Hal's abuse. Eventually, this twisted her into the monster she is now. This still leads her into making a choice, but this time, it's about if she'll kill D.L. and walk away with Micah and be safe. However, she realizes that she is a monster, just like Hal, and concedes to Niki.

Ando will not be idiotically heading off to face Sylar with a sword. No, he'll still be patiently waiting for Hiro to finish his training. The drama of the impending battle with Sylar is enough to end Landslide, rather than Ando suddenly about to die. Also, I'd like to put in a throwaway line about how Kaito had known Hiro would be at the shop (basically, a small hint at Kaito's power)

I'm a little too tired to do a beat-by-beat description, but here's a general description of the changes. Dialogue and certain moments are altered in order to give characters more believable and natural reactions to events (such as Claire's sense of betrayal from Peter and Nathan, as well as Peter's own sense of betrayal from Nathan). Peter's dream will have the reveal of Angela's ability, while still leaving Charles ambiguous. The chance of Peter exploding will be addressed in this conversation, but the seed of a greater destiny for Peter will be planted. Sylar will show up at the sword shop, looking for Hiro and any information about Peter Petrelli (Sylar painted that he would be here). He will try and torture Ando for information, but Hiro appears along with Kaito. The difference here is that Kaito believes that Hiro still needs to train in order to face Sylar, but Hiro decides to take him head on and rescue Ando.

Sylar, after the others escape, and returns to the loft, and Molly and the others find him. Molly cannot find Peter for some reason (adding more mystery to the dream), so Matt and Noah go together in order to take down Sylar. Sylar is gone when they get there, but Audrey and her team arrive instead. Matt and Noah end up convincing Audrey to let them go and stop Sylar, appealing to her past with him (she alsor realizes that the "Isaac" she met was Sylar). They convince her not to involve the FBI for obvious reasons, and also that it'd be best if Peter Petrelli stop him. However, they split up when Mohinder calls them and informs them about Peter's whereabouts. Matt back to Kirby Plaza, Noah to Peter.

Claire's interactions with Nathan and Angela remain mostly the same.

Hiro, Ando, and Kaito teleport back to Japan. He first talks to Kaito about his decision to defy his orders, and in the end Kaito expresses his pride, as does Ando. Hiro then leaves for the final battle.

Niki and Candice battle as usual, although with more grotesque imagery concerning Micah's "death", as well more reconciliation between Niki and Jessica.

Mohinder, Molly, Niki, D.L., and Micah escape as usual, but this time some guards find them and start shooting, and D.L. lets the bullets phase through them all as the elevator doors close. (There needed to be cool moments like these).

Now, the final fight. It starts with Mohinder and co. getting caught by the guards. Sylar shows up and kills them all, and he asks where Peter is. Niki manages to catch Sylar by surprise with her strenght, and they escape. Sylar catches up with Niki, but Matt comes in and starts shooting, but gets injured as usual. Peter arrives at this time and sends Sylar flying, although with little consequences besides putting the distance between them. He and Niki have a quick introduction (with a little humor about Peter being Nathan's brother). Noah, informing Peter beforehand through mind-reading, distracts Sylar, and Peter tackles Sylar with flight. They crash through the plaza statue, and crash land. Sylar freezes one of Peter's arms and proceeds to choke him, but Niki interrupts and manages to hurt Sylar some. He sends her flying though, and Peter rescues her. Noah meanwhile shoots at Sylar and dodges his attacks, but as he is reloading, Sylar incapicates him. Peter (after convincing Niki to stay with her family) and Sylar have a brawl, with lots of invisbility, flying objects, Sylar unleashing radioactive fists on Peter, etc, but nothing that would be too strenous on the budget. Eventually, Peter manages to catch Sylar's arm and freeze it, then provides a furious beatdown. Then Peter loses control of his ability, and Hiro takes down Sylar (in a more believable manner. Seriously, a quick cut and a sound effect, and voila, Hiro uses his ability to defeat Sylar).

Peter is now on the verge of exploding, with Hiro being forced out like usual (and this time, Sylar dies, for real). However, this time he is actually inapproachable, so Claire actually has a challenge in getting to him. Nathan shows up as usual, but this time he comes from a distance and has to fly into Peter in order to grab him and take him into the atmosphere. Everything is the same from there, although with everyone overlooking Sylar's dead body in the aftermath (along with Audrey. I really wanted her to give her closure with Sylar, along with concern over Matt), glad that it's all over.

Now, it's not entirely fleshed out, and I have yet to figure out how to structure the acts and such, but this is the general stuff. Comments, criticisms?
