It is a quiet Tuesday night in New York. Unit 34 of the 27th precinct is on patrol and gets a call about some strange activity going on near the Hudson river. The unit acknowledges the call and responds to the scene. Once there they see a real shocking scene. They see two men throwing around electrical current at each other. The officers grad their firearms and yell, "NYPD freeze". One of the men flies away and the other quickly starts running away. Once the officers get down the hill, they find the other man had managed to disappear without a trace quickly and a body with its head cut off. They call it in and detectives Lupo and Bernard show up. The victim was identified as Frank Emmerson and was found with his brain removed and seemed to have showed signs of a struggle and looked as though he lived on 34th St. The detectives go to his home address and once entering they find a man in horned rimmed glasses and another gentleman. Lupo draws his firearm and enters and yells, "NYPD freeze" as he enters the apartment. Noah puts his hands up and says, "relax, my name is Noah Bennett and I work for Primeatech paper." He shows his credentials and tells him that Frank was a good friend of his and that he was gathering his personal belongings. Lupo then asks him, "how did you know he was dead?", Noah said, "because your office notified my office of his timely death and I was asked to collect his possessions." Lupo then asked, "do you know if Emmerson had any ememies?" and Noah said, "I would not know cause I only work in a paper factory."

Back at the 27th, Lupo asks Lt. Van Buren if he was aware of Bennett's phone call. She tells him, "No, I did not inform him or his business about Emmerson's death. She then says, "I do know of the company he works for PrimeaTech paper; it appears that the company was once under investigation by the FBI for covertly holding some kind of serial killer who had certain "special" abilities. The case was laughed at and thrown out, but it seems that other incidents occured during this investigation." She then accessed a computer program that gave the detectives all the info on the case. They read about everything, from Claire Bennett's attack at Union Wells High School in Odessa,Texas to the death of Sylar's mother and the mysterious explosion that occured in the New York skies 7 months before. Lupo said, "my god, seems this paper factory is involved in a lot more then just making paper, what have we stumbled into here?" Suddenly, Noah entered the office. He closed the door and the blinds and told them, "I can answer that."

Before I continue, I'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions while I write.

Noah came in and thanked Van Buren for filling in her detectives on what was happening. Bennett explained that Van Buren was one of The Company's top agents and he explained what The Company was. He then told of the policy of "one of us, one of them". Anita then moved her coffee mug using telekinesis and then activated her computer by touching the screen making it shut off, which revealed that she was a technopath as well. Lupo and Bernard were shocked over seeing this and Anita said, "listen, this case is of a great importance because it's one that if it gets to court could expose others with abilities", then she said, "a little while ago, The Company's shell corporation PrimaTech and a rival company called Pinehurst were both destroyed by fire and all their operations were destroyed because both companies were corrupted and turned to evil ways, now, were trying to restore what the company is about, but Senator Nathan Petrelli has put a stop to it with his plan to round up others with abilities."

Anita then said, "A group of them had escaped the government by crash landing a plane in Arkansas and scattering." Noah then said, "I was flying the plane and I'm currently working undercover like Anita here to restore and bring back the company as it once was after this government fiasco is over", "the person you need to contact further about this is Angela Petrelli, she's one of the main founders of The Company and is working agianst Nathan and his plans and the one who could tell you of your murder victim and why Sylar killed him."

Noah re-opened the blinds and as the detectives were leaving to continue their investigation to find Sylar, the whole squad house was surrounded with a blue hue and within this hue everybody and every object stopped; except for the dectectives, Van Buren, and Noah. Bernard said, "my god, it's like someone stopped time, but not us." Noah said, "I think I know who this is." Suddenly, an asian man dressed in a dark robe and carrying a sword come into the squad room and said, "detectives, Anita Van Buren, and Noah Bennett." Noah then said, "Hiro, Hiro Nakamura?". Hiro said, "that's right, I came here risking a rift as my powers have a shorter weakness in them now and this trip alone is a risk", "you need to contact ADA Connie Ruberosoa because she has the key to stopping what is coming before everyone." Lupo said, "what kind of key?" Hiro said, "a special ability that can bring hope for everyone, not just the ability of Matt Parkman Jr", "you must protect her." Bernard said, "Hiro", and Hiro said, "ensure the safety of Ruberosa and it will ensure the safety of us all." Hiro travelled back to the future and time resumed with everyone getting back to their work. Lupo, Bernard, and Anita looked at themselves questionably and Noah said, "it looks like one of you is going to have to talk to Angela, while the other goes to see ADA Connie. "Anita then picked up her phone and said, "I'll call DA Jack McCoy and inform him of this."

Noah then stopped Anita from making the call and he said, "we can't risk informing anyone of the real intentions of what's going on because Sylar's a shapeshifter now and if Sylar is posing as anyone of us, then we would have given him the advantage." Anita then said, "ok, Lupo you go to the DA's office and inform McCoy of what is happening, but make sure not to reveal to much and Bernard go to house 345 on 45th St. and talk to Angela Petrelli about The Company and what has happened in the past and then return here for further orders." The detectives left and Noah made a call to Connie on her cell phone.

Connie:

In her office, she was working on court briefs when her colleague ADA Michael Cutter came in and said, "Connie, we have to make our appearance in a few hours, are the briefs on the Samson case prepared. Connie said, "their almost done, I can't wait to send him away." Cutter said, "yeah, it's a shame what the city is starting to become." He left and Connie received a call on her cell. She checked the caller i.d. and saw it was Noah and immediately answered. Noah said, "Connie are you alone?" She said, "yes I am, but I'm due in court in a few hours, is something going on?" Noah said, "yes, it's Sylar he's back and he's possibly coming for you besides the government, you have to get out now." Connie said, "okay, I'll leave now, but I'll have to inform McCoy of this." Noah then said, "No, you have to leave without letting anyone know, Det. Lupo is on his way to talk to him now and once he sees your not in the DA's office, he'll know why; it is possible that McCoy is really Sylar in disguise because he can shapeshift now." Connie said, "my god, okay I'm leaving now, where can we meet?" Noah said, "we'll meet at Issac's old loft where Mohinder Suresh is located now." Connie said, "I'll leave immediately and is my niece doing okay?" Noah said, "yes, Claire is doing great." Connie then said, "that's good, I still wish I was there that night when Sylar tried to kill her at Union Wells High School in Odessa,Texas", "I wish my sister Meredith was still here, after I heard of the destructions of PrimeaTech and Pinehurst, I thought the worst for Claire until you re-assured me." Noah said, "Claire is missing you too, see you at Mohinder's." Connie hung up and then she quickly checked the hallway and saw it was clear and she ran out of the office at a very fast speed to Issac's.

Lupo

Upon arriving at McCoy's office, McCoy asked him, "det. Lupo, what can I do for you?" Lupo said, "I have reason to believe that the current homicide I'm investigating involves ADA Connie Ruberosa in some way. McCoy said, "how so?" and Lupo said, "it appears that a well known serial killer that goes by the name of Sylar is the prime suspect in the case and my partner Bernard and myself have reason to believe that Connie is the next target for this Sylar." McCoy said, "you leave me in a puzzle here, but I like your speculations, so what can I do to help?" Lupo said that they had to protect Connie for a bit and McCoy agreed and picked up his phone to call in Connie. Another person picked up the phone and McCoy said, "who is this?" The voice said, "I'm a court clerk working in Connie's office and she just left the office without saying a word to anyone." McCoy told Lupo, "it appears that Connie just left, do you know where she is?" Lupo was starting to get suspicious and he decided to lie to McCoy and hope he was making the right choice. Lupo said, "yeah she's located at the bakery on 12th St. cause we told her to go there in case of an emergency." McCoy said, "well go and bring her back safely" snd Lupo said, "I will!" Once Lupo left, McCoy shapeshifted and became Sylar. Sylar looked upon Lupo leaving and he said to himself, "you better get to the bakery before I do or Connie is going to be nothing but a cut open head and a new toy for me to play with, he he he heh heh." Then Sylar shapeshifted back into McCoy and left.

Bernard

Bernard arrived at Angela Petrelli's house and knocked on the door. Angela answered and she said, "you must be det. Bernard, please come inside, we have to talk." They entered her house and began to talk.

Mohinder's Lab:

Once Connie arrived at Mohnider's loft due to her fast speed ability, she entered the place. Once inside she was met by Noah, Claire, and Mohinder. Claire immediately ran to Connie and gave her a big hug and said, "aunt Connie, I'm glad your safe." Connie said, "same here, I only wish your mother Meredith were here too." After releasing each other Noah said, "okay, I just got off the phone with det. Lupo and he gave a false location of you to your boss because it is possible that he could be Sylar or Sylar could be here now, we just have to be careful." Connie said, "McCoy, are you serious? why would Sylar want to impersonate Jack?" Mohinder stepped in and said, "I can answer that question more thorowly; Sylar is a parasite and has fed off anyone he could get his hands on with an ability. I tried to stop him myself once for him killing my father, but he had the upper hand; now, with the government after us as well, it could be impossible to be able to stop him while still being on the run." Connie said, "I know what you mean, REBEL has been sending me updates of when I would have to go into hiding if the government were to track me down and I'm starting to prepare the necessasry paperwork for both civil and criminal charges against the government once this whole thing is over." Noah said, "we have reason to believe that you hold a special ability that can bring peace to everyone because Hiro Nakamura from the future came here and told us of it." Connie said, "I do have something special, it's an ability that takes away abilities from people who are extremely evil; this is like the late Arthur Petrelli's ability, only it can't just take away anyone's abilities away, only if they are extremely evil in their hearts." Claire said, "you mean you can take away all of Sylar's powers?" Connie said, "yes I can, but I would have to come into contact with him for a good 20 seconds before the ability takes effect." Noah said, we need to create a game plan."

Lupo:

Once he arrived at the bakery on 12th St., he waited in a nearby ally and staked out the bakery. He was doing this with a few uniformed officers and he told them, "the primary suspect in the Emmerson murder is a man who calls himself Sylar, he's a well known serial killer and here's his description." He showed the officers a photo of Sylar and said, "this guy is a master of disguise and he may have been able to successfully impersonate the DA Jack McCoy; I left McCoy's office after giving him this location because something about him did not add up. If I'm right and it was Sylar I was in fact talking to he should be showing up at the bakery anytime to find his target ADA Connie Ruberosa." They continued to observe and after about 5 hours they were calling it quits. When Lupo turned around, he found both officers lying dead in the ally with their throats cut and Sylar was there. He raised Lupo in the air with TK and threw him against the wall and was preparing to cut him when he said, "this is just the beginning, you think you can stop me, I'm indestrubtable." He then cut part of his face and showed Lupo how he could heal himself and then released him and Sylar disappeared in a flash. Lupo was shocked and freaked and returned to the 27th immediately.

Bernard:

Angela brought herself and det.Bernard a cup of tea. She told him about the history of The Company and it's rival Pinehurst and how they both became corrupted and in the end destroyed. She then told of the intentions of re-establishing The Company to its original routes and how it was supposed to be and it will be that way once it was re-established. Bernard said, "my god, sounds like you all have your work cut out for you; but in my case, I don't have an ability and I'm not part of this world were people are flying around, cutting peoples heads open, time travelling, or clandestinely trying to keep others from knowing the truth." Bernard then said, "what has this got to do with me? I'm just trying to investigate the murder of Frank Emmerson." Angela said, "Emmerson was one of The Companies top agents and he was trying to get it re-established to its original routes like your boss and Noah are trying to do; he was killed because Sylar is working with the government to stop this from happening." Angela then took a sip of tea and said, "the man running the hunt for specials like me is a man named Emilio Danko and Sylar is working with him, but Danko is not the priority; it's Sylar." Bernard then said, "okay, but what are we supposed to do with Sylar?" Angela said, "try your best to stop him by any means neccessary; I'll do what I can to help in your investigation; now leave please." Bernard left and headed back to the 27th.

The 27th:

Back at the station house, everyone re-grouped and talked about their discoveries in Van Buren's office. Bernard started by talking with the others about the Company history and how it was going to be re-established and about Danko. Lupo then de-briefed about his encounter with Sylar and the cut that Sylar gave him as proof. Noah then said, "we have to find a way to isolate Sylar so that he can finished off once and for all."

DA's office:

Back at the office, Connie checked McCoy's office to make sure it was safe and she saw it was and that Sylar was gone. She and Claire then hurried to her office and gathered some paperwork. Suddenly, Cutter came in and said, "Connie, where have you been, I had to go to court by myself and make my sentencing recommendation on the Samson case by myslef, where have you been and where has Jack been?" Connie said, "Mike, I would be glad to tell you this, but right now, there are too many dangerous things happening right now and I and my niece Claire have to leave for a while." Cutter then said, "dangerous, what's dangerous, what's going on?" Connie said, "I don't have time to explain, but you just have to stay out of this for a while." Suddenly, there was a beep on her computer screen that said, "THEY'RE COMING, YOU HAVE TO GET OUT NOW; REBEL." Connie and Claire then got the rest of their things and started to leave and Cutter again said, "what's going on?" Then, a small group of Danko's goon squad showed up and started saying, "check the offices, they're in them." Once Connie and Claire saw them begin to search, they quickly ran down the hallway to the nearest exit and got spotted. One of the squadmen said, "they went down this way, let's go". As then were running, Cutter quickly asked, them, "who do you people think you are, this is the DA's office of the city of New York and this looks like an illegal operation."

The man flipped up his hood to reveal it was DAnko and he said, "were on the search for Connie Ruberosa and Claire Bennett because they are wanted fugitives in a special government program." Cutter then said, "do you have a warrant?" and Danko said, "we don't need any", and they continued to search. Connie and Claire managed to make it outside the building and get into Connie's car. They sped away and called Noah. Noah answered his cellphone, "Claire, what's going on?" Claire said, "daddy, Danko and his men have shown up and are after me and Connie." Noah said, "okay, get back to the 27th and will figure out what to do." Claire said, "we'll be right there." Claire and Connie headed for the 27th."
