"The world won't be saved on strength alone," the Hero stated, approaching the other who stood at the edge, clouds swirling and shifting in the air above them. Rain was pouring heavier than it had in the past three days alone. The Floodgates had finally spilled open.
"This world won't be saved at all," the other at the edge replied grimly, their mind clear and calculated on the hand that had been dealt to them. It may have taken God forty days and nights to wash away what He created, but this one would do it in only three. There was a quiet, almost ominous tone that washed over the band of heroes that had chosen to stand against this single threat, thunder roared in the blackened skies over their heads as they were drenched in water, and there was a strange calmness that washed over them. As if they had all been here before.
The other at the edge turned to fully face the opponents, and their grin lengthened to a menacing degree. Their eyes reflecting that lightning that struck out of the sky, piercing through the clouds, almost making contact with the building. They were in the eye of the storm.
A watch glistened in the chaos of the storm, nearly sixteen minutes to midnight, a brand they were all familiar with; a Seaton brand. And the banded heroes started to reminisce over the previous three days. When God seemed to have foresaken all of them, an event that started with death, could only end the same way.
They were to be Forerunners, Heroes of a united nation, but instead they were reduced to what they really were; frail. Human.

Welcome to Floodgate, an exciting opportunity for the community of 9th Wonders. You might notice what you read above to be vague, and make little to no sense. That's because those spots will be filled by YOU. The player. Not Me, or GM controlled characters, but each and every one of you who has a vital role in the events. Now I won't be sitting around hand holding either, there will be event pieces, decisions that you will HAVE to make. And one of you will be that villain, and another will be that Hero, those Heroes.
You might save the world, or you might watch it all drown away under a sea of depression and angst. What drives people down these separate but connected paths? What makes you a Hero, or a Villain? We're going to find out. And, by God, it will be in three days (game time).
Your character will find themselves in Wilmington, Delaware, near the height of their crime rate, but before they began surveillance programs. It is the year 1961, Dwight Eisenhower has stepped down, allowing John F. Kennedy to become the 35th President of the United States.
Protestors rage in an effortless attempt to stop the fighting and wars, and bring our soldiers home. And President Kennedy has every intention of obliging. But some individuals feel peace cannot be found in this mad, sickly infested world. Some feel our nation's very soul was sold to Satan himself, and God has foresaken us for our sins and prostotution.
At a time more than ever, the world needs Heroes. And they will look up and shout "save us!", but will you heed that call? Or whisper "No"? We're going to roll that clock back three days from what you have witnessed, and you will learn how these individuals are connected, and what horrors brought them down this road.
Open the floodgates.

Rules & Guidelines-
1. It's 1961, forget about the Company, Peter Petrelli doesn't even exist yet. This is your time, your era to craft a legendary tale. Forget the show and its characters for now, and just create your own. Basically, no canon (or relation to any) characters from the comics or series.
2. It would be fantastic if your characters had biblical names, but I won't force it.
3. No characters may have the same ability, so look at what your fellow posters are doing. Abilities are a first come, first serve basis. But this also brings up my next interesting point, and something I'm willing to try; I will allow a player to have power mimicry, but no time travel, there just isn't a place for it. It's up to you how you want it to work, but it will have my strict approval before you start in game. If you can't be fair, you lose the ability.
4. Characters die, but you may always submit a new sheet for approval. If your character is caught in an inevitable situation where they should die, they will.
5. Submitting a character sheet for approval in this game is basically signing a contract of your character over to me. What does this mean: I have every right to take control of your family, close friend NPCs, and shift them to my will for story development. If they turn out to want you dead, I'm sorry, but I felt it would be a brilliant plot device.
6. Don't think just because the game time is only going to be three days that this will be a fast and unemotional affair. I assure you, the game is whatever you want it to be, but at its core, I hope it's a character piece.
7. Never take control of another character without my knowledge beforehand, or the players. This includes killing player characters.
8. If you must leave the game for a short period, or you just don't like what I'm doing. That's fine, but at least let me, or someone, know that you're leaving. So that I can know, and it doesn't hold up any loyal players to the game. You may not care where it ends, but I'm sure some do. This brings us to...
9. If you have a problem with me, the game, or someone else, do not start something in either OOC or in game thread. You quit the game, or you PM me about it. If anything occurs in my OOC thread that I find disruptive, you will be removed from the game.
10. Like I said, and this is key so grab those notepads, one of you will become the tale's villain, and when that time comes for you to ultimately choose that path, you will know. And you will have to take it. Understand, if you've made the choices that determine you as the villain, you can't avoid that. Second point; since any of my players could be the villain, do accomodate your characters, all of them, to not be so sunshiney, as it were. They need to have faults that will allow the villainous role to take over.
So have fun, and do take these guildelines and rules into account, as they determine your character's approval into the game.
