Well... this can only mean a flashback, seeing as she doesn't go to Union Wells High School and is currently enrolled in College for the upcoming Season. What could be important enough that they need to show us a flashback of Cheerleader Claire? Not that I'm complaining, but this is an interesting bit of spoiler news...

Maybe it has to do with the episode where Hiro goes back to Charlie. Claire probably visited the Burnt Toast diner at that time with friends.

I wonder if this means the "universe where Sylar is dead" will last more then one episode. That would be nice.

Hmm if Peter doesnt have to go save Claire at Homcoming does that mean he and Claire nver meet or is their meeting meant to be?

She would still be out of high school by now.

They met before Sylar showed up.
Raekon
Or she probably gets the congratulations for saving the fireman instead of Jackie?
I mean why would the police be there otherwise? I guess its just a alternative past and it has to do with hiro aswell.
ChicagoCubz
I'm really looking forward to this "what if" episode, assuming that's what they're doing.
FlyingGirl
I am really curious now.

When I saw this topic I was like "She's a cheerleader again? Do Colleges even have cheerleading teams?"

Yes they do! You go to almost any college or university in Canada or the US and you'll see them cheering for their football and basketball teams and maybe a few others sports. You'll also find them in the CFL, NFL, and NBA as well.

Now I don't pretend to know a lot about how time travel works but this is the way it plays in my head:

They met while she was in high school when he came to save her from Sylar but if Hiro eliminates that threat then there is no need for Peter to come there. Let's say Peter sees that painting, and he make that call except this time Hiro answers instead of Ando and tells him Sylar is "dead", so he doesn't come to Union Wells. In fact if it plays out that way Claire would be starting or in the middle her senior year of high school in Odessa in the currnet timeline, assuming that the multitude of other events that transpised in the current timeline don't happen. I'm not sure just how much of a ripple effect Sylar death would have. Sure it would have some concequences but there are other things seperate from Sylar that may or may not still play out.

Would she though? Jackie taking credit for the rescue happened before Hiro was in America. I don't see how that would change. Then again as you asked...why would the police be there?

Hmm this is getting more exciting to me by minute.

No, Claire is college age at this point in time.

I don't think they would make the connection between the guy in the baseball cap that turned up dead at the diner and the guy that's going to kill the cheerleader. Hence they would still go to the school.
Requiem191
Then again guys, remember, the Hiro that would be killing Sylar, our Present Day terminal illness Hiro, would know all of this stuff. He would know it was Sylar at the School and that Peter and Claire meet there, etc etc. Since he knows all this, maybe he leaves a message behind for Season 1 Hiro and Ando or even goes and talks to Peter and Claire and explains everything.

It doesn't really matter how Sylar dies, if he indeed does. All that matters is whether or not our Almost Dead Hiro is involved in it all and what he decides to tell everyone.
FlyingGirl
I've been thinking about just how much would be different if Sylar dies before Homecoming.

They would still have to deal with Peter possibly exploding wouldn't they?

Well that connection doesn't have to be made since this is out present Hiro that kills Sylar so he already knows who Sylar is, what he looks like and what day he arrives to kill Charlie. So there wouldn't be any need for the other Hiro and Ando that are there to make that connection.

I wonder about that to FlyingGirl.

Past Hiro and Ando are the ones Peter would contact on the way to save the cheerleader.

Edit: ...unless you're suggesting Hiro impersonates his past self ala Future Peter.

Woah, what is going on!? I really need to catch up on my spoilers! There's going to be a "What if?" episode!?...cool cool.gif

People who would definately still be alive if Sylar was killed before Homecoming:

Charlie (duh)
Jackie
Eden
Some Primatech doctor guy
Zane Taylor
Dale Smithers
Isaac
Virginia Gray
Ted Sprague

And that's just season one.

Charlie would still be dead seeing as how she had a blood clot or something in her brain that was gonna kill her anyway. Also makes you wonder if the rest of these people would have just died some other way if Sylar didn't kill them. If it was meant to be, it was meant to be.

Not necessarily. If her life hadn't been cut short we don't how much longer she would've had. For all we know she could have had ten more years to live. Yes, she was destined to die young but we don't know how young.

Charlie had a brain tumour. It's very highly unlikely that she would have had anywhere close to ten more years. From the way she described it, it sounded like she had maybe months left to live.

She didn't have a tumor; she had a blood clot. To me it sounded like she didn't know how long she was going to last. Sometime people get diagnosed that way, they could have weeks or they could have years. Sometimes there is just no way of knowing.

You know what, wouldn't it be kind of cool if Hiro really did kill Sylar and the Heroes timeline actually carried on as if that happened. The series would just continue as if season 2 and season 3 never happened.

They should've thought of this idea during season 3..it would have been the perfect way to get Heroes back to where it began.
