Why didn't Edgar just superspeed and grab the key before he left?

I know people seem to think that Tracy stopped him, but come on. Daphne could still move when Hiro FREEZED TIME. Tracy could have been Jesus Christ his own self and Edgar should have been able to zip past her, root through the stomach, and grab the key.

And for any who might suggest that Daphne's power was stronger then Edgars, Peter is still fast enough to zip up on to Boston for some chowder or soup or whatever it was in a matter of seconds. It's powerful enough to have grabbed that key before Tracy could blink.

Not that this is very important, just decided I'd nitpick a little. We all know the real answer to this question is "Because the story required it. Shut up and watch the show."

Yes, he should've had the time to grab the key. But if you assume he also didn't know what to make of a woman who couldn't be killed, it's understandable that he ran away to try it another day, another way.

Exactly! If you were engaging someone whom you could not beat, would you stick around to finish your orginal task? Of course not, cause you'd be both shocked and at a disadvantage superspeed or not. So he decided to find another way to complete the job and he did.

I do not think Edgar had any idea that he had a Key in him. It was a writing quirk that they let Noah find it. Never should have happened.

No it wasn't. It was illustrating how Noah uses his head and has experience with the bizarre. He thought about the whole thing and had some clue that he was looking for something, not sure what.
