Did I see what I think I saw? Is there actually a family aspect to Hiro's story? We aren't getting a gag routine once again? Wow...
Discuss.

Hiro's story has always had a family aspect to it. The relationship between him and his father, mainly.

Most of season 1 was merely him and Ando trying to be Heroes. Then his dad dies, we find out it's Adam who killed him, then season 3 happens and we're back to Hiro and Ando with their silly hi-jinks and, imo, horrible storylines. Hiro's been the side show act all throughout the series and quite frankly, I'm pleased to see them involving his sister in everything now. She's always been there, but they never focused on her. She was never important. Everyone knows Hiro has an ability except for his sister who is supposed to be important?
Just saying, there's been a Father/Son aspect, along with all of the running gag story lines, but there's never been a real FAMILY storyline, at least not imo.
Also, Hiro's never really cried before. Tears, yeah, maybe... but he's never wept. That was good to see as well.

Well, did we ever actually find out Mr. Nakamura's power? I don't think they ever revealed it. I could be wrong of course...
And I don't think she has an ability. Just a personal guess/theory, no way to back it up, but still. Just a feeling I have that she doesn't have an ability.

He has wept plenty of times. When his father died, with Charlie. I mean I have a specific images of him wailing like a baby that I cannot place, but I know it happened on the show.
I mean I know what you mean. It is verrrry refreshing to move on past the side show aspect. But it isn't necessarily something new is all. Perhaps something that will be done better this time, but we shall see.

Leek, I guess we just have different memories in our heads. I do agree, we've seen Hiro shed tears before, but the face he made when he tells Kimiko that he's dying? It broke my heart far more than when I saw Hiro crying over Charlie and his lost love. I dunno, it just hit me harder than anything else we've seen from Hiro.

Which means it was never revealed. Deleted scenes don't have any bearing on the actual canon. So yeah, we still don't know Mr. Nakamura's power, even though they'll never officially reveal it.

I think she does have one and it will be revealed soon. Also, in the early GN's it was shown that she is skilled in martial arts. So, her martial arts and ability will make her very deadly. Maybe she and Claire will take up on a mission and she can teach her

I know one thing, I want to see the rest of Kimiko's reaction. For all she knows, until/unless he returns, Hiro just died in a most unusual fashion.

Don't you think it's time for Kimiko to talk about her ability?
I mean... We don't know if she has an ability, but it's kinda obvious since both her parents and her brother are evolved humans...
If you think about it, she may have never told Hiro about her ability for the same reason he didn't tell her.
And, since Kimiko is not a main character, not even a secondary character, we never knew about her ability.
However, now she's becoming a secondary character... She appeared in two followed episodes!

Actually, Hiro is adopted, isn't he? The company placed him in Mr. Nakamura's care when he was little.

No Kaito Nakamura placed Claire into HRG's care. But as far as I know, Hiro is his son.

I remembered Claire's placement and I think I just combined that whole scene. Thanks for the clarification.

No problem.
But I think there was a scene where Hiro and Claire both traveled back in time together and witnessed the moment where Kaito gave her to HRG.
Maybe that's what got you confused.

Yes.
THIS is what they need to do with Hiro...Humor, but not slapstick. Stop ignoring the horrible crap, and deal with it in a reasonable manner. Grow up, for gods sake!
Hiro IS a good character...but the writers have been using him as a slapstick character that has been extremely insulting to the character AND the audience.
Please, please, please Writers! You got it, this season...you don't have to make him a total doofus to make him lovable! He can be innocent without being oblivious!
