Alrighty then folks, if you've seen the current episodes of heroes (which im sure you have), you'll realize Sylar isnt exactly living up to the standards he set up years ago. If anyone thinks Sylar should be way more powerful (as Peter should be) and have his own body back, post here!

Hmmm.
I'm going to have to go with no on that one.
I love Sylar, but he kind of served his purpose during S1.

I'm of two minds on it actually.
I think, ultimately, I do want him back in his body. But I want Matt to fight with him for several episodes, possibly most of the season.
There is enormous story potential with HorcruxSylar as well as The Sylar Who Thinks He's Nathan. (Can't come up with a better name off hand. lol)

I agree with BG on this one. Sylar is a great character, but he's served his purpose, along with Nathan and Hiro.

No way man. Sylar set the bar for awesome villains in Heroes. Him in Matt's body, only able to use his powers, seems like Sylar is losing the edge he had.

Villains get boring when they get too powerful, just like heroes get boring when they get too powerful.
I like the whole Niki/Jessica thing that he and Matt seem to have, but I wouldn't miss him if he left the show completely (like what should have happened at the end of S1).

I'm always on the edge of my seat whenever Sylar's on screen (and no, Sylar-as-Nathan doesn't count), because when he's there, you know something big is going to happen. I can never have too much Sylar.
(Big hint to writers: slip Sylar a duplication ability please.)

I agree, Yuriko - Sylar energizes the screen - can't get enough!

oh, there's the Sylar General Appreciation Thread at the Burnt Toast Diner area: shanti gets you in !

As far as I can tell, the current name is either Sythan or Nylar.
And, yes, Sylar is amazing. He is the whole reason I watch the show, and if he left, the whole series would be pointless. No other character has the emotional depth of Sylar while still being a bad******
(BTW, best quote ever (gah! I can't remember the setup!!): "Have you seen yourself eat a burrito?" ~Sylar, to Matt)
YAY, SYLAR!

Losing his edge? No way! Sylar is just as much a threat in matt's body as he is in his own, just in different ways.

I think they've done a good job mixing it up with him, taking away his powers, playing
mind games with him, until ultimately stripping him of all those powers and making him rely on his own meniacle ways to get him back what he desires most. I'd be sad if they kicked him from the show, he's the only thing that got me through season 2. Well, him and Noah. Same with the first half of S3. Really, while season 4 has been pretty good so far, I still only tune in for them XD.
If they want to kill sylar off, I say go ahead, but they'd better kill Claire first. At least sylar still serves a purpose.

Claire does need to go, not much of a character there. Sylar can only use Matts power on Matt (so far shown) and cant be seen/heard by anyone else. Thats not losing some kind of edge?

It makes him slightly less of a threat, I guess... but he's still dangerous.
For instance, let's say that Matt is walking home and some guy comes up behind him and points a gun at him.
"Give me all your money!" He yells, and Matt - being a cop - pulls his own gun and tells him to just back away, no one needs to be hurt, blah blah blah. "I SAID GIMME ALL YOUR MONEY!" The guy then moves like he's gonna shoot Matt, and BAM BAM! Matt kills him!
Then it turns out he just shot some old man asking for change - shot him dead - cuz Sylar made him think it was a guy with a gun... see? He's still dangerous... he can't use TK or freeze anyone or become a nuke, but he CAN hurt people, and the fact that he figured out he could do that - the fact that he's still manipulating people into doing what HE wants them to do - makes him just as menacing, if not more so, than when he had a body.
At least, that's my opinion.

That is a good point. That sounds a lot like what the writers should be looking at here <cough, writers, check out this blog, cough>. What happens afterwards though? Matt/Sylar gets locked up in an asylum and he/they go insane listening to each other OR Matt/Sylar use his/their power to run away from the other cops. And run some more. And run some more. Then he/they go insane.

NBC is going to have to write me a check before I answer that question... only the FIRST idea is free.
I kid, of course. I honestly don't know, haven't thought it out that far yet.

It would be interesting to see Sylar on the road again. Maybe he'll find someone who can give him his body back without Parkman's help.

I'm not sure how you call the new member of the family who resembles Sylar a lot and has a watch thingie going?

No, I meant like in Season One when he and Mohinder traveled around. Remember? Sylar got his enhanced hearing power through that trip.

Clarify, please? I'm not sure what this means... :/
Seeing Sylar on the road again WOULD be nice... I loved when he and Mohinder were together and Sylar was pretending to be Zane.

that was one of my favorite parts in S1! LOOOOOOOOOVED it! And I also loved it when he was with that kid last season... even in season 2, when he was with the twins... Sylar + Road Trips = AWESOME.
hahaha, I just noticed Sylar has gone on a road trip in every season... XD
WarMachine
Oct 18 2009, 06:30 AM
He has! These road trips really show Sylar being a bad ******! Hopefully, if Matt goes on a road trip with Sylar in his head, they wont bug each other with stuff like 'Are we there yet?'

Oct 18 2009, 11:12 AM
But maybe that's how Sylar drives Matt insane.
Just think of it... Sylar, in your head, incessently asking "are we there yet?" It's enough to make someone want to rip their head open.
Wait...

Personally i love sylar! I don't know why I like him so much. It's not like I want him killing the other heroes off, he just has an edgy personality. I think they have kinda ruined him lately though. It is all so weird about him being in Matt's mind and now he's not. I don't think they should have done all of this. But this is just my opinion.
