A few years ago, Jack Powers and Gabe Daniels were best friends, living in New York City. They hung out in subways, played in arcades, just trying to find somewhere they could go without being bullied by the Phoenix Gang, composed of Tom Blake (the leader), his body guard Joe 'the Tank' Bradley, and Simon Walters (the brains). But one day, as Jack and Gabe left the subway station, a man brushed Jack's arm on his way out, creating a brilliant explosion of color. Everyone panicked, sending Jack and Gabe onto the sidewalk while trying to wade through the mob. A young girl who saw the commotion tried to get a better view from the other side of the street, but was pushed in front of a speeding vehicle by mistake. Jack saw the car, heard the girl scream, and saved her life in five seconds flat. He and Gabe were amazed.

A while later, back at Jack's house, the boy's plotted their experiment: to have Jack control his power, and to find others like him. But first, Jack used his super-speed to get revenge on the Phoenix Gang (locking them inside of a gang bar). Their journey's spanned the globe (if you wish to read about them, please post good replies about this story), and they encountered many people with amazing abilities: flight, teleportation, super strength, etc. But in Tokyo, Japan, when Jack acquired control over time and space, Gabe became jealous. He began to attack Jack, madly trying to acquire some of Jack's power. Afraid he might hurt his friend, Jack gave Gabe the power he just received, and sent his friend away.

In the present day, Jack reads about his former friend, now called Fright, starting gang wars and stealing large sums of money. Jack and Gabe met once today, in their old subway hideout. Their fight begins...
