Is Peter gonna heal Emma's hearing?
and everyone else in the hospital?
would be cool!

I thought the same thing regarding the hospital. Really Pete could retire from the show happy at this point, this is the ideal power for what he wants to do.

On the other hand, we've seen from this episode that he doesn't have immediate proficiency with a power when he absorbs it. I can see him trying to heal someone, accidentally doing the opposite, then finding himself in a whole world of trouble...

I don't want him to heal Emma. Part of the good thing about her character is that she is deaf; that's why she can see see sounds as colours. :/

I can't imagine Emma will be "healed". I've just read an interview with Deanne Bray in the Heroes magazine, how happy she is to bring to the audience a deaf Hero. By healing her character, she would end up crippled in each and every term of storytelling.
I'm certain, in-story, Peter will be tempted, but something will come between, and make him lose this ability again before he can really turn the whole show around.

yeah it would shoot their character arc in the foot.

Moreover, Deanne Bray *is* deaf. And you can hear it, if only slightly, in the way she talks. It would be strange to turn her character into someone who can hear if she can't.

Peter as a healer for a longer time will mess up a lot of things. Healer Linderman only worked because he didn't believe in doing random people a favour, so he hardly used his ability except if it advanced his own designs. Peter's job is doing random people favours, so...

Do you think Emma can be "healed" so that she could hear? I really don't think so... Even if she was born deaf or not, I don't think a Healing ability could fix that, because that's a very old "wound"...
GoldSeven

That makes sense! Notice how Sylar's RCR can't take care of the old wound where Hiro stabbed him.

well in real life the actress is deaf in one ear, so I don't think they will go that direction. I could however see Peter trying to heal someone and end up causing death like the kid? (ahh can't remember his name.. Jeremy maybe)

Oh no, please not! Peter has enough personal demons to exercise.

He doesn't need another one.

I hope that doesn't happen!
BTW: Jeremy Greer is the name of the kid, and his ability has been confirmed to be Healing Touch

I wouldn't have believed that unless I read it in another topic on here.
Not that I think deaf people are supposed to look/act/sound a certain way or anything. I was just kind of surprised to find out that she was deaf in real life (kind of like how I was surprised to find out that, hey, Marly Matlin is deaf too. Durrrr).

THAT is interesting... I veeeeery unlikely to happen, but what if Peter or Jeremy touch Claire for killing her? Would she die? It's very interesting...

Peter better get rid of this power fast. It will cause more harm then good, for realsies. I could see him going through the same sort of arc as the kid. At first it is great and he is healing people, but then it will start to change.

On the other hand, in 1961, Linderman heals a scar, which would presumably be an "old wound"

pq: We're never told. I don't think Peter can "heal" his ability either - his old one is completely gone, and his new one, while similar to his original power, is a new one altogether. It's working at it's supposed to, I don't think it can be "fixed" in any way.

I agree
However, although he can't fix his ability because there's nothing to fix, he can make it evolve, for becoming something more powerful, like Matt did with his Telepathy... Anyway, there's no way his ability evolve by a healing touch...

I think he can only heal people that are not one of them..because if he touches those people with power not only does he heal them he will get their power. So he can't heal one of them.. he will lose his power

Peter doesnt have to take the power of someone he touches, which has been displayed.
