- How did Sylar take over matt parkmen's body, because I thought matt was just haunted by what he did and started imagining Sylar was haunting him.

- What are Samuel's powers? He seems to get more powers every episode.

- Did Peter get Jeremy's powers? I was wondering if would be able to help Hiro.

1. Sylar took over Matt's mind, not his body necessarily. In the end, semantics aside, what really counts is that Sylar was able to take control over Matt completely. He's just that powerful...

2. Samuel has Terrakinesis, Geokinesis, Earth Manipulation, etc. Whatever you want to call it, he controls the earth to do his bidding.

3. Yes, Peter got Jeremy's power, but Hiro teleported to the past before Peter could heal him.

What's odd between matt and sylar is that matt was visible in the mirror ala nikki/jessica. Assuming matt has more mastery over his powers than sylar, it should be easy for him to retake control. Sylar used matt's powers against him and his body a few times when he was sober. Question is why did matt not just drop sylar's essence into a dog or something? Talk about a fall from grace.

No kidding.

Aside from Sylar, I'd consider Matt the next most powerful person with abilities. And had imagined him taking Sylar down with his impressive psychic powers, before he had even lost his body. It's sad that the most powerful telepathic in the world is getting his ****** kicked by a mental ghost.

But...assuming it really is just plain old Sylar's mental self sharing the same brain, I'd say that it would be plausible being that they are more or less "sharing" Matt's "brain". If anyone can learn the inns and outs of a brain, it'd be Sylar. Sylarkill.gif

The thing Matt would actually be a threat to Sylar if he was returned to his old body, far more so then in the current state. I'll be interested in seeing how it all plays out.

I think what you are missing is that what Matt did with Sylar and Nathan last season is something hs had never done before. So he has no idea the ways in which it could backfire. And given what happened, with Sylar consciousness jumping ship that wouldn't necessarily be an automatic consequence.

Yea, matt needs a confidence building class or 3. With all the stuff he's accomplished over the years he still doubts himself. If I got into an alley fight with the nightmare man and won I would be feeling pretty good about myself.

Except it was his own dad, and there was no reason to feel good about it. tongue.gif

Just to clarify the answer to the second question asked in the original post...

Anytime you see Samuel do something other than terrakinesis, it's most likely the act of someone else at the carnival. There's an old carnie that can manipulate space and time, hence his encounter with Tracy. Samuel's ink stuff is probably linked to his terrakinesis (manipulation of minerals).

I don't think Sylar saw Matt in the mirror. When we were looking from Janice's POV, it looked like Sylar was talking to thin air. I think Sylar saw Matt the same way Matt saw Sylar - just standing there, taking up space, like a hallucination.

I didn't miss that at all. Matt's shock of seeing sylar holding matt jr makes it clear that he was unaware of the possible side effects. I don't recall sylar having any experience with mind control powers but he was easily able to mess with matt. With his experience with his powers matt should be able to regain control.

Yeah it was his dad. But his maury was also the one who trapped molly in a nightmare coma, tortured matt and nathan with their own nightmares while trying to kill each other in a small apartment. Matt's became strong enough to break free of maury, realize what was happening and give maury some of his own medicine. If matt didn't defeat his father, nathan and matt would have killed each other and molly would still be in a nightmare. Saving molly, not killing nathan/not being killed by nathan and reaching a new level in power seems like plenty to feel good about.

Yea, you're right. Not sure why the glass behind them caught my eye so much.

Don't forget. Assuming that sylar in matt's mind can access all of his memories and experiences. he is basically the same power as matt when it comes to mental manipulation. So i comes down to who can use it more to their advantage.

And sad to say for matt, sylar with or without his powers i feel was a smarter person in general.
