I, BlueAngel, am the GM (GameMaster) of this RPG. This is my third time GMing and my 10th time RPing in my whole RPing experience. And yes, I'm a girl. They have the same rights as guys. They can GM, too. I am proof of that.


Rules

1. SPELL-CHECK is your friend. You desert him, he will hit you over the head and mess up your posts. His friends Capitalization and Punctuation will also mess up your posts if you desert them.

2. Be serious because you all are mature enough.

3. I am the GM and I have all final say in issues.

4. Keep it clean and PG-13. No cursing and no inappropriate things.

5. It can't always be action. There's other things in life. Like humor and romance.

Storyline

Underground Lines is a bar in Trenton, New Jersey. It is a secretive bar, known only to the people hanging around the worst neighborhood (in which it is located). Whispers come around through the grapevine, reaching ears of the specials and mortals alike. Underground Lines holds all the illegal trading operations, crimes, and bar fights in Trenton.

Personal History: Jasmine Reider was born on the "rich" side of Trenton, NJ, living the life of luxury. Jasmine, because of being looked as a spoiled rich kid, decided to rebel. She made a riot with other friends of hers, including Alexander McCollet, to run away from the rich life. Jasmine escaped the rich life and went to college in Texas. After graduating college, Jasmine moved back to Trenton, reconnected with Alexander, and started up Underground Lines.

Personal History: Alex grew up in the rich classes, just like Jasmine. But he hated his luxurious life more because his parents were the snobby people, bragging and rubbing their expensive lives into others' face, mostly the poorer people. Alex and his best friend, Jasmine, decided to start a riot and escape their nasty lives. While Jasmine went to college in Texas, Alex stayed in Trenton to keep a watch over the rich neighborhood, if it is ever in need of other riot.

BlueAngel, view again the glory of Joseph Kentz. He enjoys killing, making money, and starting meaningless fights. His version of the boogyman is called the "jabbawocky", but he doesn't see it unless something triggers it. He is in the Angry Skunk Bar, but he'll go to Jersey for a bit, just for variety.

Personality: Aggressive. Loves killing, very villainous. Feels that killing is the ultimate pleasure, because it is the ability to control fate. He enjoys being able to alter history with the pull of a trigger, and he excercises this power often. Tries to prove himself constantly, is eager to kill to prove himself. Often at odds with others because of his foul mouth and aggression. The consummate gang member, just more ruthless and older.

Occupation: Gun Dealer (esp. for gangs)

Personal History: Former gang member from a small town. Orphaned, lived on streets. Got captured by a rival gang during a gang war. They were going to execute him to make an example, but his power manifested and he escaped, killing ten of the rival members. Managed to escape/kill Primatech agents sent to capture him, until Primatech's collapse.

I need a thesaurus...

No one is disputing that Angel. I'm kinda wondering why you mentioned that girls can GM too and you're proof. I've seen plenty of female GMs for games and would never even imagine fooling myself into thinking they can't GM games.

Just wondering, did someone tell you girls are bad at RPing/GMing? Let me know who they are an I'll set them straight! haha Really, though, did someone say girls can't do things? 'Cuz that would make them incredibly stupid...


Well, it's not really my thing. I hope no one told you you couldn't use the word Approved, lol. It's not like I own the word or anything...

Just proving a point, Req. If you look around you (not right now, though) and ask a few guys if they think that girls can do what guys do, most will probably say no because girls are stereotyped as un-capable and not fit to do what guys can do. I'm just saying here, that I don't really see much female GMs and I want to stop the bashing before it begins. Which I know there are always girl-bashers out there.

P.S. Would WickedM be one of those female GMs?

Well, you were, after all, the first GM I saw when I came on 9th. Plus, I respect your...whatever you call it, approval process or something. Also, since I (in my own opinion) consider you a Veteran GM (which is probably true), could you, ya know, alert me if I'm doing something wrong as a GM?

I hope I'm not biting off more than I can chew by entering into my 5th RP here, so here goes nothing. Here's one of my unused characters in the works for HSG. I don't usually like working with ability replicators but I decided to try it out anyways, so here is my idea of a toned-down version.


Name: Vivian Sato

Age: 22

Hair (Style/Color): Black, shoulder length

Eyes: Brown

Personality: Quiet and observant, she tends to go with the flow. Rather than using her own creativity to figure things out, she prefers to learn by example.

Occupation: Graduate Student in the performing arts

Personal History: Commonly known among her friends as the Copycat, Vivian tends to learn about things by observing other people and other concrete examples. She has had a history of repeat plagiarism in school, although she has since learned to add a "personal touch" to her copied work to convincingly pass off as her own. When she is faced with a problem, Vivian tends to recall how others have solved the same problem instead of thinking of her own way. Because of her gift of copying others, she found herself to have a talent for acting by observing mannerisms and behavioral patterns of other people.

Ability (may link to existing power article): Proximal Ability Replication

Ability Description: Vivian is able to replicate the ability of another evolved human within close proximity, however she cannot use the ability when the original owner is out of range. If she is in the presence of multiple people with abilities (or a person with multiple abilities), the ability most familiar is replicated subconsciously. By closely studying a person's ability, Vivian can intentionally select the ability replicated. Note: For the sake of fair roleplaying, Vivian can hold/use only one ability at once.

The future Vivian's ability as developed to the point where she is able to absorb and retain an ability from an evolved human that dies within her presence. However, the absorption process is involuntary and she cannot hold more than one absorbed ability. Currently her absorbed ability is Time-Space Manipulation.

1. In all honesty, I've never even seen a single person in my entire RPing career say that girls are in any way incapable of RPing/GMing in an RP. Sure, people bash on females in real life, but they also bash on other people based on race, color, accents, diseases, etc etc and it is extremely foolish. Trying to prove to other people that girls can do everything that guys can do doesn't seem necessary to me. Everyone here already believes that guys and girls are equal. I know I do.

Until you actually see people bashing on you here, there's no need to try and nip anything in the butt. Really, RPing is a pretty safe ground for anyone and everyone. Just because there aren't any female GMs now does not mean there weren't any at one point. AnimeGoddess, OlyMendez, Begemot Geroi. They are avid RPers and each did a bit of GMing here on 9th and in other places. AnimeGoddess GMed a game that had hundreds of pages. Hundreds.

As for Wicked, I can't say that I ever saw her GM a game. If she has, then it must have slipped my mind. Wicked really is just an amazing RPer. I'm not too sure if she's ever GMed though.

3. Actually, I am no where near anything that could be considered a Veteran GM. I've never had a single game of mine finish. I've attempted one RP, on another site, a grand total of three times and it's never gotten passed the first chapter. Shattered Fragments is simply a case of luck that has happened to last a decent amount of time.

But, if I had to give you some advice, it would be this. Tone down your reactions to what people post. Not everyone is out to get you or be mean. In fact, there are practically no people on 9thwonders that are out to get you in any way. Also, don't try to be so hostile. Tone down the hostility vibes you're throwing around. Be understanding and calm and chat with people. You need to not take things so personally because, in the end, all of that stuff isn't important. That's the advice I can give you as a GM. You need to be impartial and focus more on the game than any individual thing that might happen.

Name: Matthew Dillion Mckay (Mathias, Matt)

Personality: He's a little bit insecure of himself, but still friendly. Although it is difficult to become very close to him, if you manage to do so then you will have found a true and loyal friend indeed. Matt can be mischievous at times, and if the proper motivation comes into play (i.e., something to do with his past, or Abby or anything really personal) he could be considered a villian... but that hasn't happened... yet.

Occupation: Majoring in Criminal Justice (until recently)

Personal History: Grew up as an orphan in San Diego living a normal life until he became very sick with an unknown disease. Two men in business suits arrived at his school during his Senior year and with the authority of the United States Government took him to a "hospital" called Building 26 where he was "observed" by "medical scientists". He has no recollection of what happened while he was at Building 26 (something, or rather someone must have wiped his memory) All he remembers is that one day he was sick and he arrived at Building 26, then next he remembers he was back home in his bed and no longer sick... In the process of trying to figure out what had happened to him, he discovered that he had been gone for about 3 months, during which time his fiance Abby disappeared off the face of the map. She is listed as a missing person. Currently Matt lives on his own in an apartment in San Diego, just barely getting by on a minimum-wage job and going to school majoring in Criminal Justice. It is during this time, alone in his apartment as he reflects on people he knew, things that he's seen and the hardship that he's endured that he looked in the mirror and saw not himself, but his missing fiance Abby. Scared out of his mind he slept in a closet, afraid to see her again. The next day he looked once more in the mirror and saw himself. Relieved, his thoughts quickly wandered back to his fiance. As he did this he watched in terrifying disbelief as his body changed into the shape of his long lost love. Seeing her in that mirror made him immediately recall one of the men that had taken him to Building 26 over 3 months ago. As he did so, he watched as the body of his fiance morphed into the body of that man. Then in accordance with his thoughts, he changed into the other man that took him to Building 26. Through experimentation Matt discovered that, with enough concentration, he could "become" every person he knew that he placed his thoughts upon. This new "power", the disappearance of his love Abby, and his total lack of memory of Building 26 has lead him to the conclusion that Building 26 is to blame for all of it. Scared of himself and still eager to develop these powers, he abandoned his normal life of college and a job. Instead he is determined to find "others" like him who must have some information regarding Building 26... and maybe his long lost love Abby. Changing his name simply to Mathias and living on the run, his moral path is yet to be decided...

Ability: Mathias can mutate his genetic code on the fly, able to replicate any person he's come into contact with. The only catch is that he has to have come into physical contact with the person. (in other words, he can't become someone he saw through media, like TV or the internet. He has to have come into physical contact with them at one time. Also, he has to be able to focus his thoughts on whomever it is he's morphing into in order to keep that shape)

Both parents having died when he was one year old he he grew up with a lonely childhood. He was very reclusive. His family left him a large inheritances. He lived a normal life. His power start to form when he was ten. He started to use his powers to get what he wanted. In his later years he became a Mercenary. His identity is a secret to the Chinese government, but has a infamous reputation. Building 26 almost caught him. He narrowly escaped. He had to kill the agents to protect his identity. He is cold-hearted, deranged, and analytical. He cares for only his own well being. He usually has a fake personality as friendly and kind which is all a cover. In the part of town where he lives, he is known as an artist. as, a sculptor. He likes to use his victims sometime, chiseling the days away in his work shop. He is very clever and extremely dangerous. Not even Rebel knows of his secret life. He simply thinks he is a simple artist.

Ability: Petrification

He has the ability to immobilize a person that he looks in the eyes at this will also neutralize their abilities, he must keep eye contact with the immobilization to linger. If he touch a person or object he will turn them to stone. The only way to recover from being turned to stone is him doing it willingly or knocking him unconscious within an hour. If the person is broken with major damage not even he can restore the item or person. He can cover himself in with stone. He can have his petrifaction creep slowly. For example he puts his hand on the wall which turns to stone and spreads to the floor which spreads to a person. The type of stones he can change people to is soapstone, marble, granite, limestone, and alabaster.

Been busy and just wanted to put my 2 cents in, so sorry for extending the topic.

WickedM (Steampunk Heroes), AnimeGoddess(CT, UC) , bhero2all (Original BCD), and OlyMendez (the infamous PnS, OBD), among others that I've forgotten, have all GMed before on the board at different times and they're females, so anyone on the board who denies that females can GM obviously hasn't played a game under their leadership and/or just browsed through the archives.

I've been a player under all these people (except for Wicked, but I've RPed with her in several others) so I know they're talented and capable enough, and from the looks of things so far, you're doing a good job of handling everything yourself. Not all of us guys are ignorant blokes, just figured you needed to hear from another one of us who wasn't ignorant. lol.

So with that said, I wish you the best of luck with this game!

Personality: Almost bipolar, Twila can go from chill and happy one moment to fiery and angered the next. Watch out if you plan to step on her toes!

Occupation: Musician

Personal History: Twila is the daughter of two hippie parents. She hates her name, and prefers to go by Parker. She is a musician who specializes in jazz music. She plays the guitar and piano, and sings as well. She discovered her ability one day when washing her dog. She dropped the hose on the ground to let him off his leash to run and dry off when suddenly, with a flip of her hand, water was squirting in a huge loop. After a few minutes of playing, she figured out how to control the direction of the water. She now has a fairly high level of control of her ability, and doesn't mind using it in less than kind ways.

this is my first RP so please bare with me

Personality: Confident almost to the point of conceded, Sharp witted, but is kind, sucker for the less fortunate, has a bit of a self-loathing, Views himself as weak.Bit of the middle child syndrome and short man syndrome.

Occupation: Psychology Major, Music Minor

Personal History: Aden was born to a Finish American Farmer and a Spanish Immigrant. He and his twin sister, Alexa, was born as the middle children of 8. Alexa happens to be the oldest of the two, and happens to be two inches taller too. Growing up in a rural household, Aden went to county school. There he discovered his aptitude with music. Declared a musical prodigy at 10. By age 12 he was able to memorize music after one time playing it. After a while he came to realize that people where truly touched. Over time he came to realize that he can change people very mood. But there is a catch he could help but to get himself emotionally involved. he likes most kinds of music, but he loves ballads most off all. Though physically unimposing, his voice can really make himself known. If only he doesn't end up killing himself in the process.
