Peter cant "battle" Sylar... It will be Peter getting beat up just like every season.
mrmichaelt
I'm way more interested to see the other things this article reveals; we'll find out who killed Jospeh in a flashback, Eli debuts on the show (after his GN appearance), and Arnus teasing what's to come of Samuel's power. Already resigned myself to a 3 second slapfest behind a door.

Oh he can battle him...he just won't win. sad.gif

Peter and Hiro can fight both Samuel and Sylar and defeat them both. Like this:
1) Peter copies Hiro's power and they both go back to Arthur Petrelli's time and place
2) Peter freezes time, then copies Arthur's power of removing powers. Hiro brings them back to the present near Samuel.
3) Peter removes Samuel's power. Samuel is now a normal human. Peter immedately copies (not removes) Hiro's power to avoid some sort of power madness. That power is gone.
4) Peter and Hiro go back to Arthur, and Peter copies his removal power again.
5) Hiro brings them back, this time near Sylar. Peter removes Sylar's healing ability. Hiro freezes time and takes Peter somewhere.
6) Hiro unfreezes time, Peter copies Hiro's power, back to Arthur.
7) Back to Sylar, Peter removes Sylar's intuitive aptitude power.
8) Repeat, through all of Sylar's known powers. If he exhibits any, repeat.
9) Haitian blanks his memory of Sylar, amps his Gabriel Gray, and done.

Alternatively, Step 3 can simply be Kill Samuel, and Step 5 can be Remove Sylar's healing ability and kill him. No need to do 6-9 then.

And finally, Peter copies Hiro's power, goes to himself, copies his original power and deals with it like a man.
aussiebattler16
well peter just absorbed "Nathan's" powers right? so my guess is Peter can battle Sylar with all the abilities he learned empathically (is that a word? unsure.gif ) so thats electricity, shapeshifting, flight... others i cant remember

I think there will be another death at the end of this season.

You did way too many steps since Arthurs ability doesn't remove one ability at a time, it removes them all at once.

So all they needed to do was:
1) peter and hiro goes back to arthur and peter copy arthurs power.
2) peter and hiro travel to samuel, hiro freezes time, peter absorbs samuels ability making him powerless.
3) peter and hiro travels to where sylar is, hiro freezes time(or not depending on the situation sylar is in at that moment), peter absorbs all sylars abilities leaving him powerless and thats it.

End of story!

They can of course decide if they kill samuel and sylar after they made them powerless or not in the process so there is no need to jump back and forth nor do you need any extra steps. wink.gif

After that however, peter will be as powerful as arthur was and able to drain everyone from their powers or just copy them to gain additional ones.

Good solution? Yes
Good storytelling? Nope

It will be too easy and the audience won't like it in the long run.
Except of course if they go this way in the final episodes of the season with peter having great control over himself with so many abilities since he can selectively absorb and not automatically like with the empathic mimicry.

While they're at it, how about they just let Sylar kill Peter off already? Obviously, that has always been the writers' collective intention ever since the day they changed Peter's power from many to a measly one. Two sides of the same coin, MY ******!!!!

Oh, and I've been hearing that there is being a battle set up between Samuel and Sylar for the end of the volume. And guess who is going to win? The guy who, if he gets enough 'Specials' around him, can move the very continents and earth under our feet, Samuel? NOOOOOOOOO!! It'll be the guy who can move objects with his mind and look good in a wife beater for the ladies, Sylar.

Lameness abounds when things are THIS painfully predictable. Why in the hell is Sylar going to be the one fighting to stop Samuel? He isn't a freaking hero! A re-powered Peter or Hiro should be the one(s) to do the job. PATHETIC!! It's the Sylar Show, folks!
radiohead
eli can replicate himself? will pete replicate himself many times with a different singular power? an army of petes vs 1 sylar?
Zakath
Ooh! Peter could replicate himself a bunch of times, have each clone take a power, and then fuse back together. That would be a fun montage to see happy.gif

I don't think that's been the writers collective intention, since depowering him did make for very interesting character development. However I do agree that allowing Sylar to become more and more powerful over the course of every season without someone to match him is very annoying.

I haven't heard anything about this but it sounds about right. At this point if things turn out differently then I will be surprised.

Me as well.

Samuel: "Look around you Sylar. I have an entire populace of our kind on my side, magnifying my powers. You don't stand a chance."

Sylar: "But, AH-HA, it is you who do not stand a chance. You can't hurt me cause I got armor now."

Samuel: "I just flung a continent at you. Armor couldn't protect you from that."

Sylar: "Yeah, well, my armor turned into rubber and I just bounced the continent back at you crushing you and your friends to death. I WIN! Neener, neener, neener."

Maybe I'm using too much sarcasm, but that is pretty much ANY encounter someone has with Sylar.

The trick with Sylar is that you've got to either surprise him or neutralize him. Hiro, Danko, and Claire twice got the upper hand by stabbing him when he wasn't looking or distracted. Mohinder incapacitated him with drugs in his drink. It's all about unpredictability with Sylar. Guerrilla Tactics.

Peter has a very big problem of fighting like a turn-based RPG. I cast a spell, you cast a spell, I cast a spell, you cast a spell...until one wins or the other runs away. Sylar can easily counter this because he can very quickly adapt to different abilities and find a way to defeat them.

Samuel appears to have tendencies to this, but I think he has the potential to play dirty. We'll just have to wait and see.

Samuel may eventually see Sylar as a threat to his supremacy and try to take him out of the picture.
A "If youre not with me you're against me" type of thing.

I think this would be more true if Peter hadn't caught Sylar the way he did at the end of last season. When he shapeshifted into the President and was able to catch Sylar off guard in the limo. And no one can deny that it was pretty awesome. But then it's all for naught because look where we are once again when it comes to Sylar.

I would love for this to happen. Technically Samuel should be able to crush him.

He won't be allowed to though. Since Sylar is immortal now and has moved his weak spot (so lame if you ask me) he won't be crushed. I see any plot involving Sylar like how I wash my hands. Every time I wash my hands I make the motions in totally random order each time, yet I always end up with clean hands. The same things happen every time, just differently, yet the end results are the same.
Wylonus
samuel could just bury sylar so deep in earth that sylar cant move to dig out.

wonder why Hiro call samuel a Mothman. doesnt match earth controlling to a moth?

more the gifteds near him more powerful and deadly he become.

Never heard him call him Mothman, he's called him Butterflyman, as in Chaos Theory's BUtterfly.
Wylonus
oops, that correct, it not mothman, as you said butterflyman.

i failed to understand how dangerous is butterfly?

It's a reference to the Butterfly Effect, here and was prominently featured last season in Volume Three when Future Peter intervened on Nathan's speech in Odessa. It is one of the cornerstones of time travel theory and how the smallest of actions taken can affect the future, even stepping on a butterfly.
Wylonus
oh now i understand, i didnt see that movie which ashton played on, i read a brief and read your link on butterfly theory.

it reminded me of one of movie from sci-fi, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Sound_of_Thunder_(film), now that is frightening to know.

i better look up Ray Bradbury's books.
