Why would Hiro have had fear or stress about the situation when he simply walked into the building excited to meet the artist? He wouldn't have. The fear should have came when he saw the gun and the blood..and that should have been his clue to leave...quickly. He hadn't yet found the corpse, so the self-defense defense is lame. If the killer
might be there..that is even more incentive to get out and call the authorities.
Lady Heather...you and I are in complete agreement on Hiro being an idiot. Although, it doesn't matter because he went back in time so none of it actually happened..hopefully, he's learned something from that experience, but I doubt it.

He might have picked up the gun in self defense...if I walked into a room and found a freshly dead guy in front of me (lol @ my freshly dead oxymoron) I would be looking for something to use in my defense in case I ran into the guy as I was running the **** out of there.
Of course I wouldn't use the primary weapon for the murder but, meh. Maybe the killer hadn't left the gun. Maybe he was still in the building. :-\
And the 3rd scene DID remind me of Rent! When they're looking for Mimi's stash. She's way too cute to be trusted.
