Judging from the huge explosion Hiro had to teleport out of at the end of episode two, I'm guessing that was the disaster prophesized? So they have a month to stop it.
I also think the professor's neighbor may be in on it, hence the gun at the painter's murder scene. Although he wasn't shot to death so she could have either been trying to protect him, or in on the whole thing with Sylar.
Also, I believe Sylar's power is the need to survive by eating a certain gland or part of a "heroes" brain. Which he then gets their power. I'm guessing the cereal guy had and "extra-strength" power, so Sylar used his freeze power he had at the moment from another kill, used it on cereal guy and then ate his gland to get his strength and kill his wife. He did not need the kid.

Whoa. I didn't catch that but it does look like the gun at Mohinder's and the gun at Isaac's may be the same gun. Can anyone confirm that they are the same model, if so that's a big hint, I'd think...

Your right its exactly the same gun. This only means that, that chick plays a bigger role then we know about.

It did look like the same gun... I had overlooked that. Nice catch.

I'm pretty sure the girl just picked up the 'exterminator's' gun. Remember, the 'exterminator' had a 'gun holster', you'd think he had a gun? In fact, he did. He levelled it on Mohinder, as I recall, and subsequently lost it in the hall. The girl bent down, and picked up the gun, I'm pretty sure I saw that happen.

Yes that is correct but the point is that it looks like the same gun at Isaacs where he is found dead minus a brain - Five weeks later.

Granted, or maybe Mohinder shoots him for being a whiny artist
Since this studio has been a bit sloppy about other stuff, it would seem likely they were just sloppy about this as well. After all, on a sci-fi show, every dollar you spend on props is a dollar less for special effects.

If you had dropped a gun with your prints on it would you let the finder keep it?
If your boss knew you dropped that gun do you think your boss would let you live?
I think the gun will be stolen soon. The owner knows that only 2 people can have it. Since everyone is actually avoiding the police, not counting the police officer hero, the gun will be easy pickings.

What it if Sylar is a shape.
The girl that said she was friends with the doctor before he died had the gun. And that they talked at length about with the doctor about his theories.
He could also be the little girl that the police officer finds.
And the police office that comes to Clair's school.
If he's a shape shifter it would really be a cool twist, while still connecting the story.

No, she didn't have the gun. She picked it up from the fake exterminator who dropped it on the floor.
